Game Day Thread - Texas Tech v. Minnesota
I'm throwing the game thread up early as due to the storms, I'm without satellite, i.e. no NFL Network. I may be forced to listen to this on the internet, watch it on the Yahoo boxscore or watch the replay at midnight tonight.
Update: I'm up and running.
Go Raiders . . .

holy shit!
I'm sitting here at my home in Minnesota next to my Minnesota neighbor, who's wearing all her gopher garb, including her gopher dr seuss cat in the hat hat and they're kicking your ass.
Arrggggh!
21-0. you guys should be able to score fast on them, but right now the Red Raiders haven't even shown up!

time to kill myself
and so utterly awful
the interception that goes from a touchdown to a touchback
horrible
btw- Harrell is terrible
yeah
Tech's defense is playing very poorly, that's the bad sign.

harrell
he does look horrible
27-0
You know, I called KFAN today - Minneapolis radio. They were going on about how bad Minnesota is, and how easy Tech would crush them, how the line was too low and it was an easy bet.
So, I called and said - you know, Tech has had some serious attitude issues this season, dropping balls, and Leach's name keeps coming up in coaching vacancies, so you could have the possibility of a team simply not showing up at their bowl game.
Ouch!

score
If you want hope, a couple years ago, my wife and I were at the Michigan game in which Minnesota gave up something like 38 points in the fourth quarter. It was friggin' heart-breaking.
but, they certainly have it in them.

Mrs Corn Nation was the ONLY one that picked Minnesota. she's kicking my butt in picks right now.
She was the only one that picked Kentucky over Clemson too.

half-time commentary
The star of the on-air crew, Alex Flannigan.
Have a happy halftime.
i loved missing
including Tech's inevitable 4-2 and two QB-sneak-stonewall on the opening drive
McBath
No TCU repeat
No running game. No quarterback.
And Mike Leach looks like he is thinking about his next gig.
i think the problem is
and you're right, it looks like Leach is looking for his next gig.

Tech's defense
The thing with Minnesota is - they're going to go very conservative now. Running on every play - unless they've learned from the past.
And if they have, they'll run run run run, then play-action to that tight end and boom. ouch.

38-21
now, Minnesota's worry s going to be running their offense, keeping Tech's offense off the field.
Like I said, I was there when Minnesota gave up 340 points in th fourth quarter against Michigan. It can happen.

38-28
how little faith have ye?
This game is now coming down to Minnesota's rushing offense versus Tech's defense. Can Minnesota run the ball for the rest of the game?
because we know now that tech can score.

38-35
Minnesota makes first downs, the game is over.
Minnesota gets a shortened field?
38-7 at one point, 38-35 now.
seriously, this is a reply of the Michigan game a few years ago.

I am literally in
you have to realize
the sport is non-existent here. the radio, newspapers, whatever make fun of the Gophers whenever they get the chance.
The Vikings can suck as bad as they want, and the media will get on them, but not like they do the Gophers.
So.... it's rather sad watching this game, turnout like it is.

38-7 comeback
what was the line? seven?
There's no way the oddsmakers can lose this now.
hahahaha - ever get the feeling you've been cheated? (free beer to the guy who can name where that comes from.)
