grades issue, but I can't find a link to verify.

It was
an NCAA clearinghouse issue last year. He was academically eligible from high school, but the clearinghouse had some questions. I can give a primer on what the clearinghouse is, but suffice to say it's an organization all incoming freshmen and JUCO transfers have to get 'cleared' through to play D-I sports.

This is correct
Word was that his high school screwed the pooch on the paperwork.  He was eligible by the midpoint in the season but Leach decided to just save the shirt.  Glad he did.  Everything appears much more impressive coming from a freshman.
