Pat Knight has stated the he likes to go after junior-college players. With two on this year’s team already, Knight added another on Thursday when a 6-foot-7 forward from Mississippi gave Texas Tech a verbal commitment.

Theron Jenkins is the newest Red Raider, coming to Lubbock next season for Atawamba Community College in Fulton, Miss.

just a misspelling

just a spelling correction. (I already notified Jeff Walker)
Its “Itawamba Community College” not Atawamba…

I live in Tupelo, MS. and Fulton is 25 miles away.
The City of Fulton is in Itawamba County.

Texas Tech is talked about quite extensively here in NE. Mississippi.
Tech needs to go for some of the Tupelo High School football players.

Reciever Chad Bumpis wants to go to Florida…. (not yet commited).
AWESOME Reciever!
QB Chris Garret was recruited to LSU. (signed letter of intent)

Click on Tupelo (or South Panola, cause they have an amazing 83 game winning streak)

Why is Pat Knight still here?

I should probably clarify

if Pat Knight were an assistant coach for his dad at Northwestern (or some other random school where they had the same type of success he had at Texas Tech), I think we’d jump at the chance to have a young, enthusiastic, intelligent, and knowledgeable coach, who’s dedicated to Texas Tech and the program.

Junior Knight has only had half of a Big 12 season, I hope you give him more time than that. Not to mention, I’m just now getting to break out his new nickname.

“…who’s dedicated to Texas Tech and the program.”

The only reason he’s here is because daddy was here.

but he completely

acknowledges that. he knows his leash is short.

pat knows this year is his year to distinguish himself as a different coach from his father but also as good. I don’t know if he’ll be able to do it, but I’m not going to rap on him until the season’s over.

unless you mean he’s just looking for the first opportunity to jump ship, in which case i hope you’re wrong.
