Today’s gonna be a good day, tater.

I was at Tech’s homecoming game in 2001 when we lost to Kansas. I was embarassed after that game. But revenge is just as sweet 7 years later.

by Jason Roberts on Oct 25, 2008 12:56 PM CDT reply actions

Go K-State!

... I'm just sayin'

by antiswarm on Oct 25, 2008 12:58 PM CDT reply actions

is that turf slippery?

by Plano Jeff on Oct 25, 2008 12:59 PM CDT reply actions

Never understand why Woods is set up the middle…not his strong suit.

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 12:59 PM CDT reply actions

Is anyone listening to the game on the world wide internet? I live in CA and have to suffer with the Packed In.

by Jason Roberts on Oct 25, 2008 1:00 PM CDT reply actions

I just don't know why you schedule Tech for homecoming

think that event planner gets a big ‘EPIC FAIL’ put on their file

Kansas should have their homecoming during basketball season.

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:00 PM CDT reply actions

True...

and it’s Kansas…..probably couldn’t stomach comong homw more than once a year.

Batch!

is a beast

by antiswarm on Oct 25, 2008 1:04 PM CDT reply actions

great ball control drive to start the third….

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 1:04 PM CDT reply actions

The offense has got to be loving the time of possession.

by Jason Roberts on Oct 25, 2008 1:04 PM CDT reply actions

Has to give Tech confidence that they will be able to score a few points against OU

by jeffinhouston on Oct 25, 2008 1:06 PM CDT up reply actions

Wow…that took almost half the quarter. Huge!

What do you think Tech's next stunt will be?

A year’s supply of kegs to a student who could be a lockdown corner!

by Jason Roberts on Oct 25, 2008 1:09 PM CDT reply actions

lol. you’d probably have students from all colleges in the state trying to win that one.

by willthetechfan on Oct 25, 2008 1:10 PM CDT up reply actions

Carona has had a decent day of kicking off.

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 1:10 PM CDT reply actions

by kayakyakr on Oct 25, 2008 1:12 PM CDT reply actions

It’s what happens when we show up for the whole game Beergut.

Haven't seen..

That make up has to taste bad.

holding

think that is second time it has been called today

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:16 PM CDT reply actions

Texas has got to be befuddled about how they’re going to defend us.

by Jason Roberts on Oct 25, 2008 1:16 PM CDT reply actions

don't think so

they’re going to get pressure with the DL

and build everything off of that

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:18 PM CDT up reply actions

The South shall rise again!!!

by willthetechfan on Oct 25, 2008 1:17 PM CDT reply actions

that has to be a Pontiac gamechanging play, but it put us up by 35

by Plano Jeff on Oct 25, 2008 1:19 PM CDT reply actions

So..

After watching this absolute ass whipping, I must eat crow. And I admit it tastes AWESOME!!!!!!

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 1:19 PM CDT reply actions

Through almost 3 qtrs, KU has less than 200 yds. Very good.

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 1:20 PM CDT reply actions

And huge time of possession advantage – big difference from some of the recent games

by jeffinhouston on Oct 25, 2008 1:23 PM CDT up reply actions

Kansas...

has a player named “Hereford”?

Commentators

So, who wants to bet that when this game is done the commentators will downplay the win and say that Kansas really wasn’t that good of a team?

by Crabtree_for_Heisman on Oct 25, 2008 1:22 PM CDT reply actions

They can say whatever they want – if Tech plays this way the rest of the year look out.

by jeffinhouston on Oct 25, 2008 1:24 PM CDT up reply actions

No kidding...

“You have to excuse Kansas….they played over their heads during the OU game….and the loss devastated them. Tech won’t REALLY be tested until they meet the number one team in the nation. Unless they play them at home….which would be completely unfair.”

by ForestFlyer on Oct 25, 2008 1:26 PM CDT up reply actions

well

they’ll be right

Kansas ISN’T that good of a team

but they are ranked in the top 25 and this is a dominating win

so even if they try to downplay it, they can’t

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:23 PM CDT reply actions

people leaving with almost 20 minutes reamining

by jeffinhouston on Oct 25, 2008 1:25 PM CDT reply actions

wow...

they’re leaving and it’s 3rd quarter of their homecoming

Wreck 'Em Tech!

J.T.H.

by redraidersax on Oct 25, 2008 1:25 PM CDT reply actions

Tech's not playing Kansas.

They’re competing with Oklahoma to see who lay a bigger slap to the face of Big 12 North football.

by Jason Roberts on Oct 25, 2008 1:30 PM CDT reply actions

my thought EXACTLY

it’s like they’re watching each other’s scoreboards

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:31 PM CDT up reply actions

our punter didn’t need to suit-up

by Plano Jeff on Oct 25, 2008 1:30 PM CDT reply actions

does Harrell have 500 yds passing yet?

if he does, pull him.

If not, I can see why he is still in.

Leach wants to help his award chances.

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:30 PM CDT reply actions

Meanwhile in College Station:

“Leach….you ass!! Take a knee….I don’t care if it’s the 3rd quarter!!!!”

by ForestFlyer on Oct 25, 2008 1:30 PM CDT reply actions

No Class

CLASS CLASS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!! Only argument they have left….kinda sad really

by 2001Raider on Oct 25, 2008 1:32 PM CDT up reply actions

jesus fucking christ, OU 55, KSU 28: in the 2nd quarter.

by kayakyakr on Oct 25, 2008 1:31 PM CDT reply actions

Sup Fellas

I’ve watched Tech on and off for the past five years… always been a fun team to watch. But man – this is the best the offense has ever looked. I like the fearlessness to go down field with the ball. Texas is going to have their hands full… I don’t think the Longhorn D will be able to hold Harrell and Co. down for four quarters.

by Plano Jeff on Oct 25, 2008 1:37 PM CDT reply actions

I don’t think ANYONE can legitimately say we’re overrated at this point. Our defense has arrived.

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 1:39 PM CDT up reply actions

I am so impressed with all parts of the Tech team today – best I’ve ever seen

by jeffinhouston on Oct 25, 2008 1:40 PM CDT up reply actions

Said that leaving Harrell in for stats for awards usually backfires with voters.

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 1:39 PM CDT up reply actions

I don't know if I agree with that

I don’t think most Heisman voters watch every game

so doing it one time won’t hurt you

continually doing it, though……

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:40 PM CDT up reply actions

FYI, I will be in Lubbock next Saturday. If anyone’s not going to the game, y’all want to meet somewhere?

by Jason Roberts on Oct 25, 2008 1:39 PM CDT reply actions

All overrated talk must stop

We are officially here. We are elite.

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 1:40 PM CDT reply actions

beat texas

and then you can say you are “elite”

Slaughtering a Big 12 North school doesn’t make you elite.

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:43 PM CDT up reply actions

awww give that to matt williams

KU fans booing

an injured Tech player. Classy, as they say.

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 1:44 PM CDT reply actions

I think they are booing the clock stoppage

They want this game to be over.

dixon. did anyone see it?

by kayakyakr on Oct 25, 2008 1:45 PM CDT reply actions

okay, not a doo rag. a backwards ball cap. whew

by Plano Jeff on Oct 25, 2008 1:45 PM CDT reply actions

obviously

all those other schools that used “exotic” defenses to stop Tech were wrong.

Playing them straight up is the way to go, right Mangino?

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:47 PM CDT reply actions

I think OSU

Gets hammered today. Sort of like this game.

by Beergut on Oct 25, 2008 1:49 PM CDT reply actions

Well fellas...

great game…you’ve got a great team and I wish you the best in the Juggernaut that is the big 12 south…I think you’ve got as good a shot as anyone at that thing and the Texas vs. Texas Tech game could be a great one…thanks for the great coverage this week…and all those who exchanged thoughts, ideas and discussion…turns out you were right for the most part…again good game guys.

Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.

What does one do with an African American Studies degree? Teach African Americans?

by Tech92 on Oct 25, 2008 2:01 PM CDT reply actions

Where do they offer that at?

by willthetechfan on Oct 25, 2008 2:03 PM CDT up reply actions

and texas

as well as Latin-American studies

Notre Dame has a major called “American Studies”

Their whole ’88 national champion team majored in it.

They’re basically liberal arts degrees with minimum requirements for certain types of classes, like Math or Science, that they can cluster the football players in.

At Mississippi, their Criminal Justice degree doesn’t require you to take math or science. Guess what major most football players at Ole Miss are in?
