Yeah he also picked OU and Missouri over Texas.
Respect Rak. Tech bloggers are remarkably unconcerned about slowing down Brian Orakpo, quite possibly the best defense end in the country and currently ranked 7th on SI’s draft board (h/t jc25). Unlike the second ranked defensive end, Michael Johnson, playing the run is not a liability for Orakpo, who has 12 tackles for loss on the season. Dedfischer concedes that point, but calls Orakpo “primarily a bull rusher” and believes that the immensely strong Rylan Reed will neutralize the strength of Orakpo. Perhaps he is forgetting that Orakpo runs a 4.6 40 and has run by nearly every left tackle he’s faced this season. For some reason, Orakpo’s destruction of Phil Loadholt is dismissed as irrelevant, even though Reed and Loadholt are of similar size and strength. As way of anecdotal argument, I recall a shot from the Missouri broadcast from behind their offensive line showing Orakpo shifting quickly to left in a four-point stance before blasting through the Missouri split. That would be a display of quickness, not bullrushing. I don’t care if you can bench press a Buick, it won’t help you stop Orakpo charging through a split in the offensive line.
Strength is all great and all, but does not do you a lot of good when the guy runs past you. You guys really might want to show RAK more respect because you guys have been talking shit about him all week. Remember OSU had given up all of 4 sacks all year before Texas, OSU gave up 5 in one game against Texas. Missouri had only given up 3 sack all year before playing Texas, I believe they gave up 4 against Texas. Just some thought for you boys.

Soo
I post something about Phil Steele picking Tech and you go ape shit about us not giving your D-Line respect? Did you just randomly pick a threat to start typing on? I made no reference to anyone on either team.

Dude, could care a whit about Orakpo…I don’t play, and I seriously doubt if Orakpo gives a whit about what any Tech fan say’s about him or some perceived lack of respect you think we’ve given him (which is complete bs…did you read any of our threads with respect to what UT brings to the table??)
You sound astonishingly similar to an Aggie. That’s EXACTLY the sort of thing they’d come on here and say.

No, just bored.
Got tired of all the shit talking, and decided to start some of my own. Yeah I did unfortunately I had posted this already. I know there are some of you that do respect the Texas d-line, but this is geared towards more of those that do not know what they are talking about and just start throwing the most idiotic and stupidest comments out there.

What's idiotic is
Sending your kid off to have to step over a meth-addicted-homeless-TRANNY on their way to class. What’s idiotic is living in Austin. Not all people dig what you dig dude. That’s why you’ll never get it. You are so self absorbed, you think that Lubbock is somehow bad, whereas I’d love to be able to raise children in a great place like Lubbock. Lubbock is a good,CLEAN, wholesome town. Tech was instituted by the state legislature FOR the people of WEST Texas. We like it. It’s OUR school. WhornsRiverine, you are a TOOL. I have not been on your SBNation board. I just want to enjoy this week. We are excited about playing your school because IT IS a big deal for us. You can kiss the fatest part of my ass you small little tool.

Plano Jeff
You are the reason why Texas fans and the rest of the state think about Lubbock the way they do. You know nothing about me and you obviously did not read any other of my posts on this particular board. I have been to Lubbock many times, hell I have family in the area. But you know it has been and always will be a running joke among the residents of the state of Texas. I am guessing from you name though, that you live in PLANO! What’s the matter rich boy, did I hurt your feelings? You are the one who is a tool and can you please tell me what kissing the fastest part of your ass is, because that pretty much is the most retarded comeback I have ever heard. Why don’t you go stick a needle in your arm with heroin that you bought with your mommy and daddy’s money like all you little spoiled rich kids do.

Having grown up in Plano
I think you need to stop making an ass of yourself on this board. Not everyone in Plano is rich. The way you are stereotyping everything is unbelievable.
But you know it has been and always will be a running joke among the residents of the state of Texas
Really? I would love to see where you polled all the residents of the state of Texas to conclude this. Please don’t tell me you pulled this out of your ass and just wrote that.
What’s the matter rich boy, did I hurt your feelings?
Another stereotype.
Why don’t you go stick a needle in your arm with heroin that you bought with your mommy and daddy’s money like all you little spoiled rich kids do.
That’s original. Last I checked I think Plano was the only city in the country that delt with drug isses.
I think a lot of people stopped responding to what you were writing on here because you said you were a veteran and I among many respect that. Having said that you need to grow up.

Looks like a sterotype to me there John Rocker.
Trust me I am more than grown up, I came on here yesterday and apologized for being an ass, then Plano boy came back and opened up his mouth to a whole new thing. Hey Boarder did you get picked on a lot as a kid? Just asking since you have to stand up for everyone and stick nose someplace it was not asked for.

If you would stop replying I would shutup.
I am the kind of person that has to have the last word. I thought I stopped this yesterday evening by apologizing here. If you do not believe go down a few posts. Then a new person came along and started it all over again. I actually tried talking football and giving my views and opinions that had to do with football. If you want me to shutup, then talk to me about football and quit attacking me, it’s that simple.

You have a nice picture of you kissing your child. I am guessing you aren’t goitng to teach your kid to hate, name call, etc. Right?
I think the name calling started when you were pretty disrespectful on a site that isn’t where you’d normally expect to see someone get on here and slam either Tech, Lubbock, etc.
C’mon, bro. I would bet money you’re better than that if we knew you.

I know I started a storm here, so let me explain.
Yeah I know I put my comment in the wrong area, but everybody will read it here just as easy as any place else. I would say that about 20% of the comments left on here actually give UT the respect it deserves and from those 20% they have been good comments that actually explain themselves and make good points. There are two things I am tired of hearing about. How strong Rylan Reed and Brian Orakpo are. Who cares, the thing that is going to matter come friday night, is if Reed can contain Orakpo’s speed. I am not saying he will or will not stop Orakpo. That’s it, it has nothing to do with who can outlift who.

get off OUR board. You have one of your own. I know you have one. I’ve seen it. It’s very well run, just as ours is. If you wanna drink longhorn cool-aid, stay over in your yard. Beergut is an interloper from 12th man, but he is NICE. I kind of, well, I do like it when he hops over here to chat during games. You are full of vitreal, venomous hatred. Where did that come from? Think you got ME figured out. I got my undergrad and law degree paid for by the Montgomery G.I. Bill and the Hazlewood Act for Texas veterans of foreign wars. There were wars in this world before you came along dude. And I didn’t grow up in Plano, I grew up in West Texas. DFW is a financial center and I’m reaping the benefits of my retarted texas tech education. You can’t take back something that gets a bad reaction simply by apologizing or explaining. I’ll reiterate…..If there’s something you don’t like here, there are plenty of other blogs.

I am not here to stir the pot.
I came back with the “Lubbock” comment because you know it is not an ideal place to live, and I am being nice. Have visited enough to know the area well. It was a comeback to being called idiotic. Look I know Tech has it’s best offensive line probably to ever come through the school and I know what Tech is doing is by far and away the biggest thing that has ever happened in West Texas. There are pretty much 4 reasons why I came on here and left this comment. I am a member of BON, this is probably the toughest game of one of the most brutal stretch of schedules in the history of the NCAA, I am on leave getting ready to head back to Iraq, so my boredom is at an all time high right now, and I am curious as to know about your team because I really do not know a whole lot about Tech, so I figured this was the best place to see what Tech’s team is all about despite the obvious.
Now I was not able to read the “home page” before I commented, so for that I apologize. Now here is why I wrote what I did. First off the top of the comment was left by someone on BON, but he put it in much better words, plus I really did not feel like typing pretty much the same thing. With the exception of a few and the “educated” fans, not the homers, ya’ll respect the Texas team as a whole even the weaknesses. But a lot of homers on here have been talking crap about Texas defense and more importantly not showing respect to RAK. I honestly do not care how strong a person is, the thing what makes Rak a freak is his ability on the field. I do not care about a single thing any of these guys do in the weight room. For how big they are they all should be strong. I do not predict a blow out and I am not picking a winner either way. Yes Texas is more athletic, and has overall better talent. But that does not always guarantee a win, Tech has closed the gap on Texas in both of those categories. Do I think Tech will completely ever catch up with Texas, no.
The best thing Tech has going for them, is that the game is in Lubbock, and ya’lls fan base can easily make an upset happen. Trust me I wish this game was in Austin. The other thing is Texas is at the end of it’s tough stretch and is worn out, while ya’ll are starting yours. I think the game will be close and if Tech wins I honestly believe it will because of those two latter reasons. I think Tech fields an excellent team, but I do not think Tech can win with it’s talent. It will be a hard fought game and one that I think will go down for the ages.

Thank you, and I am sorry.
Was really not trying to be an ass earlier, I think to much boredom setting in for one, and I like every person from both fan bases is way more than ready for this game to be played. I wish it was Saturday night right now.

lubbock’s not as bad as people make it out to be. about half the people find what they are looking for there (a horrid lubbock), about half are pleasantly surprised in the other direction. If someone goes there not looking for a bad time, they can usually enjoy the city.
This comes from someone who is currently living in austin (I love this city). Lubbock isn’t so bad.

Alright
the name calling is enough. It’s just a game, who cares if someone doesn’t like your city, it’s a freaking city for crying out loud. Some people will like Lubbock, and some won’t. Some people will like Austin, and some people won’t. I’ve never had to close the comments on a thread, but this is enough. Please stop.

I had no intentions of this post getting this out of hand.
As you can see I was the one that apologized yesterday for coming on here and starting a little bit of crap. Look 5 posts up from this one and you will see it. I took Tech92’s advice shutup and got back to talking about football. I thanked him for thanking me about serving and I apologized. I got on here earlier this afternoon and wanted to see if this whole thing had been resolved and we could get back to talking football and have some fun ribbing going on.
Then I read Plano Jeff’s little posts and he completely attacks me, now I know I should have just let it go and closed the page and moved on, but it pissed me off what he said about me, so then I did what every person has done once or twice. I got pulled into the fight and fired off things that I know are wrong, but we have all done it. Yes I know I am better than that and I am more mature than that, I am sorry for disrespecting the fans of this blog that did not deserve it. I know that every fan base is going to have it’s idiots and I got drawn in by one ya’lls and turned myself into that fan. I apologize and I promise from here on out, if I have any input on this blog that it will be respectful and will have to do with whatever the topic may be.
I apologize and I wish the Tech faithful a good hard fought Texas showdown, that I am sure will be talked about for a long time.
