BlogPoll: Draft of Week 6

RankTeamDelta
Oklahoma : Although it took me a week, I have no doubt that they are the best team in the nation right now. 1
Alabama : Less than inspiring win, but it was a win. 1
Missouri : Offense looks unstoppable and the defense was improved, albeit against Nebraska. --
LSU : Idle. --
Texas : Defense looked much better, I'd still like to see a RB step up and be the guy. --
Penn State : Won, on the road, at Purdue. The offense struggled a bit, but the defense was outstanding. --
Georgia : Idle. --
Texas Tech : An impressive win, on the road. Texas Tech would lose games like this in years past. --
Brigham Young : Idle. --
Utah : Squeaked by Oregon State, should probably move down a few notches. 1
Boise State : Throttled La. Tech, as they should. 1
Southern Cal : All is right in the world, USC got their groove back, but they really need to earn their way back into the top, if that's possible. 1
Vanderbilt : Just keep winning. I never saw this coming. 2
Florida : An impressive win against Arkansas, but like USC, they need to earn their way back to the top. 2
Oklahoma State : Impressive win over Aggie, helped by 3 returns for touchdowns (2 INT's and 1 punt return) 3
Ohio State : tOSU is proving themselves and Pryor is very close to being the real deal. 4
Northwestern : Same as Vandy, just keep winning, faces Michigan State this weekend at home. 6
Virginia Tech : Immediately gets into my draft because all of the other teams in last week's version stink or lost. Only 1 loss, but they're just squeaking by. 8
Tulsa : Haven't played anyone and won't play anyone all season, but they can score. 5
California : Early season loss to Maryland looks especially bad now (Terps lost to Virginia), but they do have a nice win over Michigan State. 6
Kansas : Squeaked by Iowa State. They have OU and Texas Tech after Colorado this week. 4
South Florida : Dropped the furthest. I thought Groethe was going to be a better QB, but apparently not. 12
Ball State : Why the hell not. Best wins come against Navy and Indiana. 3
Michigan State : Good win against Saturday, but, as I do with all Big Ten teams, what's the problem on offense? 2
North Carolina : Another team that's winning, with their only loss being Virginia Tech. 1

Dropped Out: Auburn (#14), Wisconsin (#19), Oregon (#21), Fresno State (#22), Kentucky (#25).

Additional Thoughts:  I completely get the hypocrisy of me saying that teams have to "earn" their way back in (Florida, USC and to a certain extent Ohio State), as teams like Texas Tech and Texas haven't really played anyone to "earn" a spot as high as they are. I've probably struggled with this more than anything else in my first year voting in the BlogPoll.  I'm also thinking that Georgia Tech and Florida state deserve to be in the bottom of the poll, perhaps replacing South Florida and Ball State.  GT only has 1 loss to Virginia Tech (damn their pesky) while Florida State's only loss is to Wake Forest.  Ball State's opponents:  Northeastern, Navy, Akron, Indiana, Kent State, and Toledo.
