Real reason to be offended

So this clip is on the Texas Tech home page on ESPN. Apparently one guy thinks Tech is overrated and will lose 3 out 4 games starting with the Kansas game. His main argument is Tech hasn't played anyone. Remind me who Texas and OU have played so far??
Its typical ESPN saying something that is contradictory to what they said 5 minutes before hand. I am glad they are giving us the "overrated" tag because it will make Tech go into every game with a chip on its shoulders and that is something I think we need.

Yeaaaa....
I’m not sure if we deserve the #7 rank, i think it would be nice to be ranked lower, so our team could have something to progress towards, but at the same time, i think we have the offense, and defense to deserve that #7 spot. Since we’re about halfway through the season, i think it’s time that the rankings got a little more correct. After the next 2 weeks , Nebraska and A&M, i believe that this Tech team will be prepared for the road challenge against KU, and then against UT at home. And all of those games will just be in preparation for the OU game. As of the season so far, Tech deserves it, its just a question of whether they can keep it.

Todd McSayitall
This is the worst diss by ESPN yet, & Kiper just sitting there nodding his head. Time for Texas Tech to stick the football down some ESPN announcers’ throats. Alabama deserves much less than Tech and there they are up there with the big guys. ESPN is so pro-SEC/USC it is rediculous. This next month of games is going to lead to them being throttled, I think. TxT, UTx, MO & OU are heads and shoulders above all of the SEC/ It is just too bad we can’t cross-play their top four with our top four. The Big 12 would probably come out way ahead. As for Tech, this is without a doubt THE year we all have been anticipating, and ESPN, all of them, can go fly a metal kite in the rain for all I care. And be sure Todd and Lou are at the front.

An opportunity to make ESPN's pundits look like morons
is an opportunity one should not pass up. Under the radar and disrespected is where you want to be at this point in the season (though #7 in national polls hardly qualifies, even if you’re there by default and the prognostoscenti consider you pretenders), instead of sitting on top with a gigantic target on your back. Graham Harrell just received ESPN All-American Player of the Week honors, and ESPN in turn throws up a poll asking which NCAA quarterback will have the biggest week, and it includes three Big XII quarterbacks (Bradford, McCoy, and Daniel), plus Tebow… so, what else is new? The team can take whatever emotional energy it needs from a perceived snub and take it into the next game, and us fans can continue our fits of paranoia, despair, and rapture until this murderer’s row of a conference competition plays itself out.

Big 12 this week
a show on espn U has the wordsmith mike rucker naming top teams in the conference and listed OU, UT, Mizz, O State, and KU. Huh? I see what all you are buzzed about. Another thing i noticed, during thurs night football, Craig James and crew listed BIG games this week, and at first obligatorily started with OU-UT, so naturally i’m thinking, well 2 ranked teams meet, but then they string out 5 or 6 games where the ranked team is facing an unranked opponent, then it hit me…all of those games are either on ABC, or one of the espn channels except the SEC game. sometimes they’re just promoting their own product. I don’t believe any of it is intentional and regarding the dude picking us to lose 4. history is on his side. let;s hope to break the trend.

In years past.....
this would have pissed me off to my highest boiling point. But after being let down so many times by Tech, I understand the non-believers. Of course we know better, those of us who have been following this 2008 team and how much of an improvement they’ve made….but I can’t blame others too much for thinking this is just another Tech team that will blow through a cup-cake non-conference schedule and then blow it the first time they face someone of respectable caliber.
So I’m not going to get pissed this year when all the ESPN haters spout off about over-rated Tech (did anyone else see Lee Corso call the “upset of the week” on last week’s gameday saying KSU would beat Tech?)…..I’m going to be quiet until we take care of our games that we’re supposed to win (NU, A&M, KU, OSU, BU) and then wait to see how well we do against those we’re not supposed to win (UT and OU) before I start calling for the heads of those hater ESPN analysts……And trust me, if we do, there will be hell to pay!
