Can you imagine Leach at one of the elite programs in America, the kind that gets all the best players? No telling what kind of offensive numbers they would be putting up. I could just see Graham Harrell throwing to two or three Michael Crabtrees with a couple of Knowshon Morenos in the backfield and a USC -caliber defense that only gives up 6.7 points a game. I honestly believe he could average 80 to 90 points per game.

With all due respect MR BOWDEN, If TECH wins the NC this year(which is very likely) would not he have the best players,at an elite Program,with THE BEST FANS and collages in the nation.Look at the graduation rate TECH has.That my friends not only exceeds money and elite programs it what schools are there for in the first place.

And how many FANS like at TENNESSEE or a USC would take the likeing of a pirate from a coach and turn it into a force which really drives the team to win? I don’t think Tennessee will be able to match Nick Saban like compensation that Alabama did for a new coach. Gerald Meyers and chancellor look determined to keep Leach at Tech and I think that we will be successful. But in the eventuality that he leaves? What is our plan B? The only other coach that I can think of who will suit our philosophy is Chris Petersen of Boise State. It will be terrible to have any small time coach here after the heights that we have reached this season.

As someone who once lived in west Texas let me first say congrats to you TT fans. I have always hated most of the teams in your conference. It’s nice to finally see a fan base who deserves it get rewarded by a stellar season. The program is on the right track. That’s an understatement.
That being said…I was born in Tennessee and moved back to Knoxville 20 years ago, so as you might guess I’m a VOL fan. What we are hearing from local media is that the top two contenders for the job are Mike Leach & Butch Davis in that order. That doesn’t mean that either wants the job. Tennessee isn’t going to pay Saban dollars, not because they can’t but because they would never hear the end of it. Saban was a great pick up, but who is worth that kind of money? Tennessee will be offering between 3.5 to 5 million for whoever takes it, not 7.
I personally want Leach baddddd. If anyone out there is familiar with our program you know why. I have never seen so much athletic talent on a team play so terribly. We need someone with an opposite mind set of our past staff. We need offense first and foremost.
A lot of people say he wouldn’t fit in here because he doesn’t glad hand with the boosters as much as fat Phil did but that’s fine with me as long as he can kick the $&*@ out of our players and make them play a little SEC football.
If Leach leaves for Clemson or Washington, then I’m very sorry, but if he comes our way…what can I say.
