I agree
with that. Tech beat a #1 and #23 ranked team so we should be #2, penn state just beat ohio state, and a weak illinois team. we’ll see if they can beat michigan state. also, who has ball state played this year? I think these good D 1 non-bcs schools should form their own bcs league, if thats possible, so that they can get a better chance at making the national championship. because theyre all in weak leagues right now. but it really doesnt make a difference to me

Ball State beat Northwestern and Navy both of which are not that bad. The issue with Ball State is that they are in a conference that gets absolutely zero love.
Only the Sunbelt may get worse love than the MAC but its a close toss up. But Ball State is real. They did take down both Northwestern and Navy pretty impressively.
Just as BYU, Boise State and TCU are the standouts of the non BCS conferences. No one doubts that they are better than average and should be ranked. Ball State is that good. They could easily take down many team. I also think they are better than TCU and Boise State. Its a toss up with Utah. I honestly think that Ball State could take 9 of 10 of the PAC 10, 9 of 10 in the Big 10 and 9 of 12 of the SEC. I think they could beat most of the North in the Big 12 save Kansas and Missouri.
Just as this year is the year for Tech, this is the year for Ball State. The difference is that I do not expect Ball State to run again next year like they have this year. They are better than most but they will most likely fall into the 30 something next year.
Penn State is simply the best in the Big 10 which is just slightly better than average. I seriously doubt that Ohio State or Penn State would even get to go bowling if they were in the Big 12. They are not that good and the Big 10 is limping along on reputation alone this season. Thus Penn state is getting the love because its most likely the last year for Joe. His health is failing and I just do not see him making it through more than 2 seasons if they stays at it.
Thus Penn State will get to the NC if they stay unbeaten even though they are in a poor conference this year. Joe will get the love out of respect not because they worked to get there.
If Tech beats OSU and OU and then takes out Kansas or Missouri, then most likely the NC will be Penn State v Texas Tech.
My biggest concern is OU on the road. However, all my family and friends suggest that OSU is better than OU this year. OU’s loss to Texas has made people think that way. But they saw OSU play better than OU against Texas. Thus they see it that way.
Personally, Norman is a tough place to play. Tech better bring more than they did against Texas because its going to take more than that to win in Norman and its going to take a better Offensive showing to win this week against a very good Cowboy team that also took Texas down to the wire but lost.
