AJ writers don't show loyalty or provide moral support
I won't be reading any of these writers blogs anymore. Sad, sad, sad.

Granted they’re just sports writers, so it’s not like they have much influence. Yet, I thought the 4th estate was supposed to be independent regardless of their ties to the community.
Would you still want these sportswriters to show their loyalty if they wrote positively of Myers’ decision to stay mum on Leach’s contract rewrite until the end of the year?
Yes I would...
want these guys to show their loyalty to Texas Tech University. They are after all employed by Techs home town newspaper. And I don’t have a problem with Myers’ decision to stay mum on rewriting Leach’s contract. After Tech wins the National Championship, Tech should award Leach appropriately with a hugh pay raise. In pirate lingo these scalawag sports reporters need to walk the plank. Go Tech beat OSU!
It doesn't bother me in the least
if these guys pick OU. I’d rather them be honest than a homer. Besides, writer picks are only interesting on Thursday or Friday. I’m pretty sure that I can’t remember who picked Texas Tech (well, other than Lee Corso and Bob Knight) through the course of the season.
It’s their right to have an opinion.
Just the same, if I thought that Texas Tech was going to lose a game (I picked against OU last year), that doesn’t make me a bad fan.
Go Raiders . . .
Double-T Nation
My problem is not about picks
The issue with the AJ is the tone and the what they say about the program in general. It has historically not been pretty even with in the face of success with the program.
I am all for Tech. I have also had controversial opinion. Just one concerning the Tech football program. I do not like the progress and the coaching of the secondaries. I would like to see new coaches to actually provide some badly needed support and ability to coach those positions at a higher level. But that is my opinion. But I do not trash the program as a whole.
The AJ writers have gone overboard a few times to trash the program and their editorials are not flattering at times when there was no reason for it. Its like the AJ writers are allowing their home school bias out of the box at times and put a little dig here and there against the the school which is local.
Compared to other papers around the nation, the AJ sucks big time and their total lack of respect for the program as a whole has come out time and again. Eventually it will come back to bite the paper because honestly, the Sports section is the main reason people read the AJ and the AJ sucks to high heaven in Sports coverages and articles of the sports of this region much less what is happening around the nation which has some news that effects local teams.
Like I said, I can deal with the writers having an honest opinion even if that opinion is against our Red Raiders. What I can not deal with and can not stand is the disrespect and lack of good reporting concerning our team and other local programs.
