spread the word

TTU39, UT 33

What happens when you give a guy too much time . . . a website.

I thought it would be cool to remind all of the BCS voters that Texas Tech vs. Texas was settled on the field, in favor of Texas Tech 39-33, and as a result, if we are judging on a head-to-head basis, Texas Tech is obviously the superior team (please note the huge hint of sarcasm).

Thus, without further ado, I bring to you:

TTU 39, UT 33

(click me)

Do I realize it's silly to combat what the Longhorns are trying to do? Yes.

Will some people take me seriously despite the fact that I realize there are arguments as to why Texas Tech should not be ranked ahead of Texas? Sure.

Do I think politicking for votes is stupid? Yep, but it seems like everyone is doing it.

Do I care what anyone thinks about me? Nah.

If anyone would like for me to add content, please leave a comment and I'll get it up as fast as I can.

And please remember, this is done as a joke . . . sorta.

Good thought

But even if it is appealing, I could not lower myself to the whining, crying, sobbing, Mac-led type of politicing UT and their fans are doing. They are low class and is proven by this scheme that they have hatched. So egads, Seth, don’t try to emulate the dastardly denizens of central Texas and stoop (play on word) to such a trivial and embarrasing execution. Texas Tech has the best player in college football, the best quarterback in college football, and arguably the best team in college football. Let us all ACT LIKE WE BELONG, and that WE WILL BE HERE FOR THE LONG HAUL! Hold your head high, sing the Matador song, and keep your GUNS UP! WE ARE THE TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS! ONWARD AND UPWARD WE CLIMB!

i know, i’m just joshing you. If it weren’t really going to matter in a couple of days, i’d work on that for you… but it won’t matter more than 2 weeks from now so there’s no big deal.

Sagarin SOS rank

the UT-OU site references the Sagarin rank of SOS, so I checked it out:

UT – 5
TT – 19
OU – 25

and Texas Tech is out of the discussion?

I agree with you so much on this. Yeah, Tech got beat down one time. But given all the other information that is supposed to be objectively applied, how is this not more widely known. OU will rise after Saturday, but at the moment, it is ridiculous that Tech is out of the discussion.

Shouldn’t the word be ‘Absurdity’ on the web page?

If OU were to go to the Big 12 championship, the Whorns would forget all about head-to-head when it came to picking the other conference team to go to a BCS bowl.

I saw the argument from the OU site

What a bunch of maroons.

I can show with ease how Tech goes to the NC.

1. Alabama loses to Florida.
2. OU loses to OSU
3. A&M beats UT
4. Tech beats both Baylor by 70 to 7 and an extreme win against Mizzu.

Thus.

  1. falls to 7
  2. falls to 6
  3. falls to 8
  4. rises #1
  5. 5 rises to #3
  6. rises to #3
and #7 Tech rises to #2

I took that from the BCS ranks where Tech’s computer rating and SOS is pretty darn good. What most people never paid attention to is that when Tech was #2 they were in the computers #1

The computers have Tech at #4 right now but the Harris and USA Coaches dropped Tech signigicantly after an extremely bad loss where nothing was done right from coaches to players.

But what helps Tech in the list is the extra win in the Big 12 Title game which does have an effect on the BCS rankings and it has more of an effect than anyone wants to admit. Just ask Missu last year who got leap frogged for losing the Big 12 title game even though they had a significant BCS lead.

The winner of the Big 12 title game will play for the NC unless its Missouri. It would be the most horrid and most unjust BCS to over look the Big 12 team that survived the South to become Champion.

I can see if the Big 12 south team wins the Big 12 Championship but does not go to the NC then the BCS is broken beyond repair because the Big 12 South top 3 teams are better than the Pac 10 best and USC. The Big 12 South top 3 is better than the top of the SEC best champions of either west or east. Florida is Tebow. Anyone who keeps Tebow from running and shuts down the run beats Florida. Alabama is a lucky team with a good Defense. But Alabama offense just can not score that many points. If they have to win a game where the score is more than 28 they lose no matter who they play in the top ranked teams.

Penn State is weak and they are extremely overrated. Ohio State and the big 10 is like the ACC and Big Easy East.

Thus the is mathmatical evidence to put Tech at #2 if not #1 if they win out and OKlahoma Loses. A UT loss just improves the numbers. But it will be easier rather than a squeeker if they lost to get to no. 2 in the nation.

Its more than possible.

Right now teams are riding high with extreme bias from the Harris and Coaches polls. The Harris and Coaches polls have not gotten anything right all year. While the computers have.

Thus if Tech totally demolishes both Baylor and Mizzu by 40 plus points, then it will effect the Harris and Coaches polls who will forgive the Tech loss on the road especially if OU loses on the road to OSU. Then Tech can claim just as USC and Florida that their losses were flukes and that for what ever reason they could not put together a respective game plan that day.
