Since Dez Bryant is the only wide receiver on OSU’s roster I can name without looking, should Tech double Bryant ?

Double Bryant
Tech can double Bryant as it proved effective when he did not have big games against MU or Texas. But have you not heard of Brandon Pettigrew? He will likely be one of the top three tight-ends chosen in next years NFL draft. Damian Davis is the one who caught two huge TD’s at MU, including the game winner. Bo Bowling is a reliable slot receiver as he caught a big TD at Texas when Bryant and Pettigrew were both double-covered. Jeremy Broadway caught the longest TD pass in OSU history last Saturday, 95 yards. Hunter and Toston are both a threat out of the backfield. Even when back-up TE Wilson Youman is in he has caught numerous passes to convert on 3rd down. Three other receivers, DeMarcus Conner, Artel Woods (back from overcoming a back injury), and Hubert Aniyam were able to see some playing time against ISU although they have very little experience. Hope that helps.

Will OSU’s receivers “out-athletic” Tech’s secondary?

Can you give us a comparison between Okie State’s defensive front and that of UT? What do they do differently?
... I'm just sayin'

Front
OSU is not overpowering up front. They have had success with stunts and bringing a line-backer around the end. Against MU the rush can up the middle between the wide spreads in the O-line. I would look for more of this type of pass rush with some zone blitz and corner blitzes. The defense has been playing really well against the runs outside but they really fall for mis-direction runs.

How do we stop the running game of OSU? What defensive formations are key for Tech to force three and outs like we did against UT?

Shouldn't we have gone for two after "THE PLAY"
I’ve heard nobody even speak of it. At the time, I thought we should have, and I still think so. We had already had a blocked kick in the game, and 1 point just makes it a six point game anyhow. If Texas does get the miracle kickoff return for a TD, do they not get to kick the PAT to win it. It’s not like the coaches didn’t have time to think about it either, with the celebration and all.
Maybe my question should be this. If you score on the last play of the game, you still get to kick the PAT right? Even though technically, there is no time on the clock.
Basically a seven point lead would have secured overtime, if they didn’t choose to go for two to win it after a miracle of a kickoff return.
I could totally be missing something here though. And I have been accused of thinking too much at times.
And just for the record, if Leach did miss it, I’m thinking I’m gonna let him off the hook on this one.

Has Zac Robinson proven that he can play under pressure, on the road?
The only game I’ve seen him play, is the one in Stiilwater last year. He played well obviously, in that game.

How does our run D stand up against the OSU run game?
It appears we have really improved in the defense of the run. If so, then the backbone of the OSU gameplan could be seriously damaged if we can play up to the standards we have set for ourselves. This could make the chances for a win a whole lot better. Agreed?

ZRob
The plan against Missouri, which had been a top defense at stopping the run, was to come out with 5 -pass plays in a row. That let them know they could not line up to stop the run. If Tech loads the box then Bryant and the other receivers can run free all night.

I'm a Man! I'm 40!
It has been a year, football wise, since Gundy’s tirade. What are the effects in terms of wins/losses and stats since then?
Did his tirade help or hurt?

History is history...
Never before have both teams come into the game so highly regarded. Any other year I would say the home team wins, no doubt. But this year, everyone in the Big12 South is playing for so much more. And OkSt has never been this good and well-balanced. I love my Red Raiders, but it’s a toss up for me. Slight edge for Tech if the crowd and team both show up with the energy and intensity from last week!

OSU vs aTm
The Ags had 5 turn-overs in the first half against OSU. But they were pretty effective overall, scored 28 points and gained a lot of yards. What did aTm do against OSU that we should use to our benefit?
atm – 402 total yards vs osu – 401 total yards

Time of Possession
I know we don’t need much time to score. Is keeping the ball away from the Raiders a key point in the Cowboys’ gameplan, or do they disregard the time and try to score at will? Is time of possession going to be a factor in this game?

Offensive/Defensive Numbers
If our defense doesn’t show up, how many points will the Tech offense have to score to win this game?
If our offense doesn’t show up, how many points can the Tech defense allow if we are to win this game?

robinson's mobility for osu
i am watching the tech – osu game from last year at robison is able to beat us with his legs fairly easily a few times at big moments in the game. I realize this years defense is much different but are will robison be able to hurt us with his legs again, especially with so much attention being given to bryant, hunter and pettigew?
