Superstitions?

I need a haircut!  Yes, it's driving me nuts, it's uncomfortable, and my hat-wearing time has easily quadrupled, but I haven't cut my hair since August.  It's my crazy superstition, and as long as we keep winning, I won't let a pair of scissors or clippers come near my head!

So, what's your crazy superstition that's kept Texas Tech undefeated so far?  Beard?  Lucky underwear?  An odd gameday routine?  Whatever it is, share with us and KEEP DOING IT!

Wreck 'em!

I had the same gaemday shirt

for my first five years at Tech. I heard about the blackout against UT in August, just before
our first game. I decided it was time to get a new one. A bold, black shirt, simple and classy,
but most importantly, untainted by any losses to a winless CU team, UNM, or TCU. Now I’m
working on No-Shave November for the rest of our gauntlet (or unitl i get fired from work!)

A couple of things

1. I have no idea why, but the poll Seth puts up on who will win the upcoming game and by how much I refuse to vote in. I didn’t do it the first game and decided I must continue.
2. Like most people I record the games. I will keep last weeks game all week long and delete it the Satuday morning of the next game. The awesomeness that has been our last few games has carried from that recording into that day’s current game.
3. I have also had my current gameday shirt for quite sometime now.
4. This kind of has to do with #1, but I won’t predict the outcome of the game like most do on Friday. I have not done it yet this season and it has worked in our favor so far.

That was fun.

Being an accountant and famous don't go together. If you're a famous accountant, you probably did something wrong.

I have a “playoff beard”. Been growing it since august. I trimmed the beard and mustache to clean it up before nebraska. I trimmed the mustache this week before UT. I’m not touching it again.

If I am watching the game on TV...

or just listening on the radio, I WILL NOT TURN THE CHANNEL DURING COMMERCIALS. If I’m watching another team on TV I will use my picture in picture and go back and forth from abc, nbc, espn, fox etc… This does change when I have company or am not at home of course.

Coffee Mug

This one is rather benign, but I have a black TT coffee mug from my college days that I took to work for some reason at the beginning of the season. I took it home the weekend of the K-State game for good luck. I had my Saturday coffee out of that mug and we won convincingly in a game that had us all a little worried since it was our first “real test.” Since that game, I take my mug back and forth from work to home and have a cup of coffee every morning of the week. I’m having a hot cup of joe as I type this!

Tech shirts

On Monday of last week I began wearing a tech shirt each day. I don’t see any reason to stop now. Wore my “We score a LOT”! shirt today.

Go Tech!

group therapy....

First, I’ll have to say how reassuring it is to hear everyone admit that they bow to their superstitions! Now mine: first – I buy a new hat for each season – and THAT hat is my game hat. I never wear it for anything else… not to worry… I have plenty of others to wear everywhere else. Second, I think its a good idea to wear something “Tech” part of each and every day of the football season. It’s easy when you have plenty of great Tech T-shirts. Of course, it helps when your family knows about your superstitions, and helps by providing you with several other items of apparrel.

I don't know if I'm supersticious

or just have OCD. But, I have to sit in the chair with not as good a view as the couch because apparantly it’s working. I have to be wearing my “football” Tech hat or have it close. I do the same thing as Boarder w/ the Tivo, but I wait until after this week’s game before deleting last week’s. At first it was so I’d have a win to watch in case we lost the next one and now because of superstition.

we also have an annoying bottle opener that plays our fight song when you open the beer. Keep that close by because is it new to this season and "undefeated Tech parerphernalia.

Thank God I'm not the only one...

Each season I buy whole new gameday ‘uniform’…shirt, hat, shorts, underwear. I suit up each week in the same gear… Only use them on gameday.

This years gear will be enshrined in my trophy case for sure.
