What will it take?
Just wondering everybody's thoughts on how many rushing yards we give up and what it takes to win. Without the rush, Robinson just can't keep up with what our offense could do
I'm thinking around 170.
I expect to give up more than our average, but that doesn't mean it won't be a success.
Also, anybody know of any bad blood between Leach and Gundy. I know their tirades last year were unrelated, but does anything else exist?

I think Seth
Is pretty on it in terms of his keys to victory: Kendal Hunter needs to have a 90-100 yard game instead of a 150 yard game. That’s about the best you can expect to contain him, and part of it is going to require the offense to put the Pokes in a hole early so that they’ll lean on the pass. As far as the Dez Bryant Question goes: I’m more concerned that he’s a homerun threat on returns than his ability as a receiver. He’s a burner on deep routes and it’s entirely possible that he’ll get behind McBath/Charb a few times, but you can contain that by pressuring Zac Robinson early and often, and making the deep passes to Bryant that much more difficult for him to attempt. When he’s on return duty though… in a game like this there are going to be a whole lot of opportunities for him to break a return wide open. That concerns me.
Leach and Gundy don’t seem to know each other that well, from what I can see.

I would bump it up...
to about 190…I think we would still outscore them because of their poor secondary play. I think our DEs will play the option and zone read pretty well, but I’m very concerned about the pitch to Hunter on the option. Do we have someone to get there before he gets 5 or 6 yards? We need our corners and linebackers to shed blocks quickly, or our safeties to run with 4.3 speed to be there in time.
Their running game scares the shit out of me!! This is one hell of a team coming in here Saturday! If we beat them, we could move up to #1 depending on what Alabama does with LSU earlier in the day. And we would deserve it if it happens, by the way.

This game is a true test...
This game is a true test of our guys to prove that they have the ability to come back from a hard fought win against a strong opponent, and also to prepare themselves mentally for the challenge at hand. I am not saying that I do not believe they will, I am just saying that it makes me nervous to know that we’re playing such a well-rounded team on both sides of the ball after that extremely emotional victory last week. The coaches and team leaders will/are doing their bests to keep the players’ minds in the right place. I’m looking forward to another close game, although I am hoping that it Tech turns it into a rout, this game should be another classic that will be remembered by the Red Raiders, current students and alum alike.

it will be huge to hold him to <4 yards per carry
if we can do that, they will be forced to throw the ball more and thus speed up their game, rather than play the clock control game than nebraska played
