I couldn’t have written a better script… Now we have two weeks to plan for OU while they are crapping the bed in Norman.

... I'm just sayin'

LOL… ok, maybe not. But I don’t see OU hanging with us at all. I’ve listened to two of their games, and looked at their stats. I think it goes a lot like tonight.

Right now its only 50 bucks to reserve yours plus face value.
Its better to buy them now before they go to a 1000 bucks

From an Oregon fan.

Your team is freaking good. Congrats on another great win, and I hope you beat Oklahoma next week.

Make this one count. From someone who knows, this type of run doesn’t happen every year. Savor every moment.

Thanks!

We have a bye next week to catch our breath and get Crabtree 100%. Yeah, he’s been on a gimpy ankle for a month. How about that performance on a gimpy wheel?

by Tech92 on Nov 8, 2008 10:49 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

I didn't know that...

And he’s one of the best WRs I’ve seen in the past couple games. Scary.

Crabtree

Gameday said that it was actually a fracture this morning that has Crabtree hobbling, not a sprain. First I heard that.

Food for thought

I have started to think OSU was not what we all thought. They played UT close and everyone thought they were the real deal. Many will say, well, OSU must have been overrated. Truth be told, we left three TDs on the field vs. UT last week due to mistakes and drops. OSU isn’t overrated. We’re THAT good.

by Tech92 on Nov 8, 2008 10:51 PM CST   0 recs

That’s what I have been saying. We were 21 points better than Texas and they know it.

... I'm just sayin'

56-20: Are you f'ing kidding me?

I absolutely concur. I thought that if Tech was taking field goals tonight, then maybe Tech’s detractors were right to call them overrated. Now, I can’t see any reason why this team isn’t national champion caliber.

Tech’s second half defense in Big 12 play has been a sight to behold. Myers better lock up Ruffin in addition to Leach this year.

I want Alabama.

by Jason Roberts on Nov 8, 2008 10:57 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

I hate to diss my own team (OK State, that is),

but really, OSU’s first touchdown was a capitalization on a TTech turnover. The next OSU TD you could argue that maybe OSU “earned”. But certainly through the vast majority of the game, TTech dominated. They are big, skilled, experienced, nervy, and disciplined. They’ll go far.

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

Boy, I hope Corso picks OU, we seem to do better when he picks us to lose than when he picks us to win,

My argument...

If Tech isn’t #1 tomorrow, then the whole system loses credibility. Serioiusly. Who in their right mind puts Alabama #1?

We were already tied with Alabama for #1 in the computer rankings. We were tied with Penn State for 3rd in the human votes. All those Penn State votes have to go somewhere. Alabama? Are you kidding me?

Seriously, I hope we are not #1, but if we aren’t… everyone… every single person… every aggie… every longhorn… every bama fan… every gator… KNOWS who is #1. Musburger knows. Herbstreit knows. Corso knows.

They know, and that is good enough for me.

... I'm just sayin'

by antiswarm on Nov 8, 2008 11:01 PM CST   0 recs

Well, brake tap

It’s pretty rare where a number one falls without losing. I do know we’ll steal some votes from them, for sure. And our strength of schedule just keeps going up as we get deep into the year. We’ll probably be number two, but that’s okay. Just win the next two and let’s see how it shakes out.

Problem is, if we lose to OU, we likely totally miss out on the BCS all together. Losing that late in the season is an absolute killer to the BCS hopes. We’d be tied with OU and UT. If we lose, we’ll for sure drop below those two teams and the highest ranked BCS team advances to the championship game in KC. I hate that scenario. A lot. Now, who is to say OU beats OSU and UT beats Aggie?

If we lose to OU, but OU drops to OSU and UT drops to Aggie, we’re in the conf championship game.

by Tech92 on Nov 8, 2008 11:16 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

didn’t ou jump somebody earlier in the year when they made it to #1? or maybe it was texas when they beat ou? For some reason i remember somebody getting leapfrogged. this should be a pretty similar situation as the #1 team barely won in overtime (remember when Tech actually dropped a spot or two after their overtime win?) and the #2 team totally dominated a top 10 team. But that is my biased view. (and that lsu team looked pathetic on offense. my grandma was screaming at them trying to get a first down)

And we all have to remember it means nothing if we let ou beat us in a couple weeks.

Besides, all that matters is to be 1 OR 2 to get into the National Championship game. After that, it is actually settled (bcs gasps loudly) ON THE FIELD!

by pcrawttu on Nov 9, 2008 12:16 AM CST to parent up   0 recs

How can the system lose credibility when it has none to begin with?

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

by juperee on Nov 9, 2008 12:08 AM CST to parent up   0 recs

We don’t lose to OU. But, my point is that I think the votes are already there. No love for Alabama in the computers, and if live people with a pulse watched these two games today, Tech gets the numbers.

If not, fine. I’d rather be #2 anyway. We control our destiny. We beat OU. I’m not just saying that because I hope it, but I think we are better in every aspect of the game. Seriously. I’m not even questioning it. Even in Norman.

Early, early, early.. forgettable prediction:

Tech 42 OU 21

... I'm just sayin'

by antiswarm on Nov 8, 2008 11:19 PM CST   0 recs

I follow your thoughts

I would rather be #2. Fly as much as possible under the radar. Yes, Zero U will be ready for us; but the less incentives the better. If we win out, we win!!!!!!

by Texas1836 on Nov 8, 2008 11:28 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

Well, any doubts I had in the back of my mind are history. That was awesome, although they did kill several of their own drives with mistakes. For a while there they were gashing us pretty good when they weren’t self-destructing.

Impressive:

- The O-line, esp. in the 1st quarter when they were trying everything to get pressure
- The play calling to break that blitzing
- O overall execution. 7 straight TD drives – Wow
- RAC yards
- minimal penalties
- Defensive game plan- If they hadn’t hurt themselves so much, this may have looked more like a gamble
- D overall execution. Stops the pass and limits the run w/o committing safeties

Not so much:

- Bungled snaps are getting to be a habit, could be fatal in a tight game
- no pressure on the QB until they got one-dimensional. Bradford will light us up at that rate.

4:00 am and back to a computer from the game

did I nail it about the Elf or what. (see predictions) They had no answer for him.
