Mississipi VS. LSU & UA

CBSCHD will be airing two Ole Miss football games this week.

Star-divide

Mississippi vs.LSU starting at 5:00pm on Thursday the 18th followed by the Miss. vs Alabama game at 8:00.  If your like me and did not see Ole Miss play any this year, here is your chance. The UA game will show again at midnight.

I have Direct TV and CBSHD is channel 613. I tried to find a web link for CBSCHD, but came up with nothing.

First impressions:

Alabama dominated the first half, 24-3, aided by turnovers by Ole Miss. Miss seems slow as a team.

Cody goes down, and Snead can’t pass.
4th and 4. Snead runs like a girl, but gets the 1st down.
Wow. Snead really can’t pass.

As a Big 12 fan, the slow pace of the SEC is incredibly tedious.

I’m not trying to say the SEC players are slow or not talented, but when I watch one of their games it kinda reminds me of guys wearing cement shoes. The Fla-Bama game was not that bad, but most of the others do get tedious. I guess it’s just the style of their offenses – 3 yards and a cloud of dust, and maybe pass on 3rd down. If their run defenses are so dominant, I don’t see why some teams haven’t tried some version of the spread to force the D out of its comfort zone.

Exactly

70% to 80% of the time it’s 2 running plays, an incomplete pass, and a punt. It’s so predictable, it’s laughable.

I think we may be witnessing a fundamental shift in college football. Like the wishbone before it, the spread offense has changed the way the game of football is played. Luckily for Texas Tech, we have in Mike Leach a coach that is leading the change. Only time will tell if this is a trend or just a fad that will fade like the run and shoot.

For schools in the SEC, it’s change or fall behind the power curve.

All in all, I’d say Alabama is overrated.
