Keys to the Game:
- Trying to Outmuscle: According to LAJ's Jeff Walker, Darko Cohadarevic is going to get the start today, squeezing out Mike Singletary. My best bet is that Junior Knight wants to control the boards and win the game that way. New Mexico isn't a huge rebounding team, so this is certainly worth watching.
- Guarding Danridge: This could be problematic. Without Okorie to guard the most athletic player, this job falls to Roberts, who certainly has the ability to guard just about anyone on the court, however, this now eats into the depth of the team and early fouls by Roberts means that the already thin bench is even thinner.
- Singletary Off The Bench: Because of Cohadarevic's start, Singletary gets moved off the bench and I think I like this move. Singletary is a pretty good 6th man and is typically much better than opposing teams' players off the bench. Hopefully Singletary will provide a spark off the bench if the Red Raiders need a lift.

was this a must win?
it may have been, i doubt tech can make a NCAA run after this disastrous week of humiliating in-state losses, but a loss to UNM would have made it damn near impossible

Good win
Not great, but a win, anyway. They are very loose with the ball, toomany turnovers. And the fouls. More discipline, controled energy, better awareness. The athleticism is there, but they need the formentioned. Very raw team that could develop into a pretty good one by season’s end. Hopefully, they can get into the NCAA playoffs by then, because they might be good enough to win a few there. Singletary could be a real beast if he would just control his agresiveness, using it when he needs to and not at the wrong times. Good upside here. Just need to hone their games a bit more.
