At this point its obvious their is a rift between Myers and Leach and/or his agent. I have nothing personel against Myers but I don't see this marriage lasting long even if an extension is signed. We look real small time complaining about paying our coach. Increase tickets prices, cut back somewhere, etc. Gerald is getting in the way of our future success and needs to be removed.

Myers
is the AD for Tech. As such, his first responsibility is to Tech. If he can get this done without putting Tech in a financial hole, he will. Remember, he pretty much IS Tech, much like Polk was. Also, if Leach remains, with Myers nearing retirement, there is a very good chance that Leach would be in line for the AD slot. I am sure this is something Leach may be looking at. He really may be just playing the game to ensure he can stay at a much better salary structure, and so he would be readilly available when Myers retires. Give Gerald Myers some credit. He has done a great deal for Tech and will continue to do so until his retirement. I think we all would be very pleased if Mike Leach is still around to take over and continue improving all of the athletics at Tech.

What the Hell is going on in Lubbock
I’m a huge Tech fan but live in the Austin area. I woke up this morning thinking that this is the day they finally sign Leach. What the hell is taking so long to sign this great coach who put Tech Football on the map. I do not understand what is going on at Tech, does anyone have a better answer then Myers. What is the schools problem with paying Leach what he deserves. Now you see on ESPN that Harrell stated there is a great chance that Leach will leave Tech.
If Leach leaves then I hope the students and people in Lubbock make Myers life a living hell.
