I’m glad they finally got to it, but I don’t agree with a lot of it. It ignores the stark home-field advantage of playing Oklahoma State in Lubbock, Tech’s dominance over A&M, and the fact that the 2006 loss in Norman was actually within reach (and basically, blown). The talk about the defense is true, but while mentioning the eight returning starters, it neglects to mention the transfers on the defensive line.
After all is said and done, more is said than done.

The transfers could potentially be what
changes the defense. In my mind, I’m extremely hesitant to rely on JUCO’s, but I feel like this year is different and if we can get just a little more production out of the defensive end opposite Williams, the defense could be really good. Not to mention Perry. If he has the ability to workout for a full offseason and get into shape, he could be huge on the line. The defensive line needs depth (NG and DT).

Is this the first time
he’s ever done a Texas Tech season preview? I don’t recall him having done it before.
Great read, as always, per SMQ. Obviously I hope he’s wrong about much of his skepticism, but until this defense beats someone, we are how we’ve played.

Yes, I think
this is the first time that he’s done a Texas Tech preview. I’m really starting to question the defense and I promised myself that I wouldn’t.
