our ranking

So USC, Florida and Wisconsin lost.  Either Georgia or Alabama HAS to lose.  Now, I know if Penn State beats a ranked team, they probably leap-frog us, but does that leave us at 7 possibly 6?  I sure hope, either way, we put a whipping on K-State and play up to our talent and intelligence.  Looks like Big 12 could have 4 of top 7 seven teams for a few weeks.  How awesome.

Here's how I see it shking out

1. Alabama
2. Oklahoma
3. LSU
4. Texas
5. Missouri
6. Penn State
7. Georgia
8. Texas Tech
9. Auburn
10. BYU

‘Bama is going to get lots of love for going to Georgia and getting a win. And because they play in the SEC. And becasue they’re Alabama. Bob Stoops will whine, and I don’t see Tech passing Georgia until they beat a ranked team.

No way ‘Bama moves into number 1…3 or 4, but not #1. Geogia won’t stay top 10 either…they looked horrible. 31-0 at half!!!

Here is my top 10:

1. Oklahoma
2. LSU
3. Alabama
4. Missouri
5. Texas
6. Penn State
7. Texas Tech
8. BYU
9. South Florida
10. Ohio State

I think there's

a good argument that they should. They’ve beaten the toughest team (IMO) at home and they beat them fairly handily (Georgia). No one else can boast that they’ve done that thus far. I’m not sold on Alabama either, but I’d be willing to bet that the BCS will have Alabama near the top this week. They have, again, IMO, the best win of the year and they’re undefeated.

Go Raiders . . .

Interesting

I dont think LSU deserves #2, their defeat of Miss State wasnt very impressive. Bama, much more so, and over Georgia at that.

1: OU
2: Bama
3: Mizzou
4: LSU
5: UT
6: Penn St
7: Tech
8: BYU
9: South Florida
10: USC

It looks like

we’re pretty good at this, most of us had tech at seven. Dear Lord, I don’t ask for much, but four more wins and College gameday on Nov. 1st in Lubbock vs. the whorns would be sooo very, very much appreciated.

looks can be deceiving

Don’t get me wrong, I’m giddy as a school girl that Tech has managed to hold a top 10 spot for 2 weeks straight. But I’m also a little skeptical because we haven’t really earned it yet. There are at least 3 teams behind Tech in the polls that I think would give Tech fits (USC, Georgia, Florida), and possibly a couple of others.

Georgia violated the #1 cardinal rule of sports – Never piss off a potentially dangerous opponent the week of the game. USC and Florida suffered the proverbial “bad loss”.

While I agree in principle that their rankings should fall below other unbeaten teams, I’m certainly glad Tech won’t have to face any of these 3 during the regular season. They will be out for blood.

I don't think any of us can disagree with you on that NM

Every year, i just wait for the carpet to get yanked out from under us. I was at the OSU game last year. We just DO NOT play well on the road. I am just hoping to finally get just ONE little segment sat. morning on gameday. and with some luck or will, we could be ranked high for texas game.

I honestly think, in reality, we are a #12 team (which, by the way, ain’t too shabby). We’ve moved up by default, not by merit. In fact, had there not been so many upsets in the top five, I’m betting we’d have been leapfrogged by a few teams. I am VERY anxious to see this team over the next two weeks. After four games, the only thing we know for sure is that the pass defense is terrible.
