the thing i’ve heard more today than any other: crabtree overthrown

But still a really sloppy series......

Sorry, not trying to ruin the mood, just being realistic.

ttu offense needs some fixing. fixing at the head.

what's wrong

with graham? the completion % certainly isn’t there, and no td’s???

by gzablue on Sep 6, 2008 10:27 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

he’s overthrown 20-30% of his passes. he’s stood in the pocket for way too long. he’s not finding any open receivers, I’m not sure if that’s his fault or the receivers.

by kayakyakr on Sep 6, 2008 10:28 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yikes!

Harrell is 13/33! That’s Stephen McGee-like!

by Tech92 on Sep 6, 2008 10:29 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

he’s had a habit of throwing to receivers that didn’t exist.

That’s a slight, slight, slight silver lining.

first downs through three qtrs. Okay, I’m officially worried about this team. In just about two full games they’ve sputtered up and down the field in fits and spurts. Remember in the spring and fall how our defense owned the offense and everyone was excited about Ruffin’s new attitude? Could it be that the offense somehow fell back a few paces since the Gator Bowl – which was an ugly game, as well…

I figured he’d be a good test for your defense.

he’s doing about what you’d expect. the game-changer is that he’s over 70% passing and harrell is under 40%

by mojavereject on Sep 6, 2008 11:12 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

something to keep in mind

when you have injured players, it may take someone off STs

if you’re putting a backup on STs, a penalty isn’t uncommon

they may not get much practice on that squad, you never know

not saying this is the case here, just saying….

by Beergut on Sep 6, 2008 11:12 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

these are mostly special teams starters. vasquez and reed are the only guys we have injured.

by kayakyakr on Sep 6, 2008 11:13 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

by kayakyakr on Sep 6, 2008 11:14 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

not disagreeing with you on that

just wondering who your first choice for DC would be

by Beergut on Sep 6, 2008 11:13 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I kind of agree. He’s improved our run defense for sure, but at the cost of showing everybody how poor our pass defense really was.

It’s easier to exploit a weak pass defense than a weak rush defense. Teams in the Big XII will take advantage.

After all is said and done, more is said than done.

by ayleein on Sep 6, 2008 11:14 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

no joke

given the aggressive pass offenses we’ll be facing, I’d prefer teams be under the impression that they need to keep it on the ground to control the clock instead of knowing they can make our secondary look like a bunch of confused JV scrubs

by mojavereject on Sep 6, 2008 11:15 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

not sure how much difference that will make

honestly, don’t think most teams want to get into a shootout with Tech

keep it on the ground, run the clock, only pass when you need to

that will still be the offensive gameplan against Tech

by Beergut on Sep 6, 2008 11:16 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i’m just upset at the same old defense.

by kayakyakr on Sep 6, 2008 11:15 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don’t think so either. They have done a good job considering they have played 3/4 of the game.

by NM99 on Sep 6, 2008 11:17 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

For the first time in years......

I’m more worried about our offense than defense

by 2001Raider on Sep 6, 2008 11:17 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

reminds me of chanting “score Defense Score” when Zebbie was QB and Zack Thomas was leading the D

by NM99 on Sep 6, 2008 11:18 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I’ve figured it out.

Tech will never play to expectations. If you expect a lot, they will under-produce. If you expect little, they will surprise you. There is no way to consistently and accurately guess how Tech will perform.

You’d think it was an on-field personnel issue, certain players having certain mindsets. After 8+ years, maybe it’s just Leach?

After all is said and done, more is said than done.
