Eric Ward Switches Commitment to TTU
A buzz started developing around the net last night with the rumor that TTU was going to receive a surprise commitment. In truth, it turned out to be more of an enrollment than a commitment.
Wichita Falls Rider WR Eric Ward has decided that his best school option is Texas Tech and has in fact enrolled in spring courses. Welcome to the Texas Tech family Eric!

Wonder if Stoops will ever recruit Rider again?
Since this is the second recruit in two years to switch their commitment from him at the last minute.
The Ralphie Report - University of Colorado Athletics
So based
on what I read from ESPN, he was actually on OU’s team this past season and therefore he will have to sit out the 2009 season at Tech. Am I right in that assumption?
Oh, I also like how he talks about getting a degree, after all the talk about graduation rates and comparing Ou’s 46% to Tech’s 79%. Good to see that is actually getting some attention with a quality recruit. Of course if he really wants to be the next Crabtree, he will not get a degree because he’ll be in the NFL.
From Seth’s link above:
"I’m going to strive to be better than (Michael) Crabtree."
Ward said Tech’s academic record helped factor into the decision. The Red Raiders led the Big 12 Conference with a 79-percent graduation rate in the NCAA’s latest report released last fall. Oklahoma was a conference-worst 46 percent.
"I want a degree," said Ward, who plans on majoring in criminal justice and sociology. "Football is not going to last forever."
Another intelligent young man picks Texas Tech over OU. Wow.
Something I’ve been arguing with my T-sipper brother about. Texas Tech competes for athletes with OU, not UT.
Wes Welker can't be stopped.
psst. i’m not Seth ;)
And we compete for athletes with both. Running through our offer/interest lists, we’ve lost about the same amount to each school.
I used to live in Wichita Falls
I would have gone to Rider, but I moved to DFW. Emory, please go to Tech. Why would you want to enroll at CU, where they run it all day with 5’6 people and when they pass, it gets picked off on meaningful drives?
