Keys to the Game:

  1. Maybe There's A Chance: I'm not real confident heading into today's game and I feel that the biggest thing that Texas Tech as going for them is that UT's leading scorer, Abrams, is in one heck of a shooting funk (8-27 vs. OU; 2-10 vs. ISU; and 3-16 vs. Ark). It would be really nice if that shooting touch lasted at least one more game.
  2. Keep Them Off The Boards: I'm probably going to just leave this as a key for the rest of the season, and Pat Knight mentioned it in this morning's notes, but Texas is an awfully good rebounding team and I'm extremely happy that Suljagic and Cook will be back for this game.
  3. Play At Your Pace: I'm not going to try and convince you that the turnovers weren't a killer last Saturday against Baylor, but the Red Raiders had 15 in the first half and were still in the game. If Roberson, Voskuil and Okorie can just be selective when running and take care of the ball, I actually think Texas Tech can win this game. Lose the turnover battle, and I think it's an "L".

No chance.

I am not convinced this team can beat anyone in the conference except through just good luck. Junior has not proved a thing, yet. That is all…..

Yeah,

it’s not good when my first point is about the struggles of the opposing player.

25 point loss

unless UT has a game in which they can’t score, which is possible

they struggled against texas state and a fewothers in that fashion

first game I’m getting to watch. came in late because of the baylor game’s overtime. So far… we look really, really undisciplined. I can see what everyone means, we don’t have anyone available to help inside, we’re committing dumb fouls and we’re jacking up ill-advised shots.

bullshit foul.

Texas defense is pretty bad, no way they’re as good as their ranking. If Tech’s open shooting didn’t suck so badly, this would’ve been at worst a close game.

I don’t think I have enough toes to count all the missed or passed-up open looks by the deep shooters.

Yeah, the officiating was terrible, but should we expect anything more from Big XII refs? Bad calls cost Tech points early, but not 22 of them. Pat Knight needs to teach the guys how to shoot. Stop practicing dunks in pre-game and start practicing defense and contested shots.

After all is said and done, more is said than done.

Tech isn’t real good at this whole basketball thing just yet.

Texas Tech has taken a step back from last year

I understand that this is Pat Knight’s first full year and all that. But, what concerns me most is that not only has he not improved the team, but instead the team appears to have taken a step back. It looks like an awfully coached, terribly undisciplined team. I am not sure if we would win another game in the BigXII. I am wondering how long do we give for this Pat Knight experiment and at what cost!

team looks better than it did earlier in the season.

Pat Knight

needs to really stop being publicly critical of his players. It won’t make them better shooters. These are kids HE helped recruit. If he doesn’t like the result, he needs to focus on coaching them, not criticizing them in the media. He’s an ass….sorry, but I just think he is. He has exactly ZERO coaching skins on the wall to get on a high horse about performance,
