Rex Burkhead seems to have been hurt in practice and will be "out for a while" according to Pelini. This in addition to Helu having been dinged up. This should make Nebraska's running game a little less worrisome.

No problemo

As far as I can tell, the Tech defense is has played pretty good most of the year, with the exception of one drive each at UT and at UH. They have done more than enough for this offense to get a W for Tech, as explosive as it has been. With all of the replacements that have occurred, the chemistry has not always been there, but a plus is that a lot of backups have gained valuable experience faster than normal. Most everyone is back and the results show it. They are really playing inspired and dominating defense now and many are not giving them as much credit as they deserve. Despite the numbers showing for the NU defense, they have not faced an offense like Tech’s since last year. We had Crabs and Harrell then, but there is not as much emphasis being placed on just one player as there was then, so we have several legitimate offensive weapons over what was being utilized last year, making it more difficult to channel any defensive strengths in any particular direction. The RBs are much better this year, though it has not quite reached the overall numbers from a year ago. But if NU does not give the running game as much attention it surely deserves, Tech will dismantle their defense to the tune of about 40 points. I do not see their offense scoring that many points, so if Tech does play with the same intensity it has played with the whole year, a win will be gained. Nebraska is not a pushover by any means, but a smooth performing Tech team will beat a smooth performing Husker team all day long, just because of the level of play both are playing at now. Tech should control the LOS well enough to make NU go to the pass more often and they just are not as adept as they need to be if that happens to beat Tech. We could lose because of the home field advantage, but only if Tech plays below their capabilities. All things being equal, Tech should normally be a 2-TD better team than NU, so they should cover the odds (6 points at last glance) with ease. The winner will be in good position for a run at the Big-12 title, especially – for Tech – if UT loses to OU. Whatever happens, this will be a very hard-fought game, with some injuries possible, so I just pray now that no one is injured on either side, and that all players play good, hard, aggressive and competitive Big-12 football.
