What if....
The unexpected happens?
This is all hypothetically speaking but I felt that it needed to be addressed. Has anyone thought about what would happen, God forbid, if Doege went down with an injury???
Would Leach go back to Potts who's obviously injury prone, mistake prone, and has no trust from the team, OR.....do we take the redshirt off Jacob Karam and let him take the reins or give the ball to Garrett Riley? This all has to be taken into consideration since this is the first year that we've gone through this sort of mess with 3 QB's. Obviously, if we get through this coming weekend regardless of how Doege does, you give the ball back to Sheffield assuming he's ready to play. Sheff should be back for Okie St since we have the bye week coming up.
My thoughts on the matter are that you HAVE to give the ball to Riley and let him run with it and hope for the best. If you take the RS off Karam, you not only risk him getting hurt, but he also loses a year of eligibility in the process and that would be a big mistake on the coaching staff and would fall squarely on ML.
Potts, to me, has shown that he's incapable of leading this team and he hasn't instilled any confidence in the guys through his level of play. I'm sad to see this turn out to be the case for TP because he was such a heralded recruit coming out of high school, but I don't see any possibly scenario where he comes back in as QB. It would appear that he's seen the last of his playing days not only at Tech, but possibly in college football too....

Could it be a curse?
Crabtree was on the cover of NCAA Football 2010. I’ve heard of the Madden curse …could it be that the curse has carried over to the college version of the game? I’m not a superstitious person but this has been a very strange season. Let’s finish strong!

Doege is officially our starter for this week
Heard it from several news programs today.

Re: Karam. With Sheffield, Potts, and Doege being back next year (provided Potts doesn’t transfer), pulling Karam’s redshirt this year isn’t so big of an issue. He can redshirt again next year as he wouldn’t be getting any playing time, and he’ll have the same overall set of eligibility.

agree
I would pull his Karam’s redshirt if Doege gets hurt in some way. I don’t really see that happening but he could as you stated redshirt again next year with all that we have coming back. I don’t see Potts transferring as a senior but stranger things have happened. I’m actually excited about Karam’s future along with Scotty Young provided he still stays committed to Tech. I like Sheffield as our QB for next year. I really think the kid has a Harrell likeness to him.

Dreaming of a three year starter. If Doege screws that up for Karam because he’s better, I guess I’ll take the victories.

Karam is like SS in that he will run, but I think he has a better arm than SS.

I'm happy with either Doege or Sheffield.
Both can do the job just fine. I’m still upset about Potts cause I think he’s a great guy. I can’t imagine what he must be going thru right now.
I look at it this way, Josh Freeman got drafted, why not Potts? eh? eh? Come on?
