Erie Quiet.....

The boards have been erie quiet for the last two weeks, and I can't help but speculate that the realization that we actually DO have something to play for (Cotton Bowl against a great SEC team), and the notion that Sir Stix of Sheffield may be ready, are the reasons. First off, the majority of reports indicate Potts is handling the majority of first team reps, thus likely to start. However, 104.3 and some news reporter in Lubbock are doing a piece tonight based on their info that in fact Sticks is the guy on Saturday. Anyone got anything on this, other than speculation?

Second, it's Thursday. It's time to crank it up a notch. In two days we have what is now the biggest game of the season, with a nationaly observed and respected bowl game on the line. WAKE UP SWASHBUCKLERS!!! It's time to start getting stretched out, get the game day shirt out of the dryer, and get it pressed. Time to start drinking an above average amount of water ( got to hydrate before you de-hydrate). Is the fridge stocked (and I am talking about the one in the garage, the one you keep closed when the church group comes over)?  Get the grill scraped off, propane tank filled, and stop by the meat market on the way home today to grab the brots. It's time to get the rumble started gents.

Don't test me. It's all fun and games till I push the limits of my HR Dept. and host another workplace tailgate! It shouldn't be neccessary, we should be able to move the spirit needle without that kind of career jeopardizing display. However, if I even smell a lack of commitment on your part I will throw caution to the wind, and don that eye patch! It's almost rowdy game day boys, where ya at?

My thoughts as well

I have been thinking it’s way to quite around here. We’ve got our day of smoking meat all planned for saturday (I love night games, so we can spent all day getting primed up for the game)

Excited but also

scared to death about this one. I circled this game before the season started and thought it would be a make or break game for us but now all that is reality. I want the Cotton Bowl badly so we can redeem ourselves after last years mess. I like our chances in this game and flags will be flying in front of my house come Friday. I expect Tech to bring everything and I’ll have my tums handy. What a huge accomplishment a win on the road like this could be. Get ready fellow red raiders for this will be a good one!
One last thing – If we win this game, I say we win out!

Beat me to it....

I was just asking if anyone was as nervous/scared about this one as I was!

by RAIDERdweb on Nov 12, 2009 12:03 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Scared?

I’m almost curious if as a fanbase we are just nervous for this game. I mean I know I am nervous, its a huge game in my mind that we have to win. There isn’t much commentary going on in the Fanposts, no discussion of Potts and SS, just really tame this week. Hopefully our players aren’t feeling the same effects and we wipe the floor with the Cowboys. Regardless of how I feel now I know by Saturday I’ll be pounding the cold ones, cooking some red meat and ready to scream my head off for our guys.

No need for QB discussion

SS has taken 1/3 of the reps for ONE day of practice the last 2 weeks. Unless your Brett Farve, and SS does NOT wear Wranglers, one day of practice with only 1/3 of the reps is not enough. Potts was the man before the season started and he’s going to be the man Sat night in Stillwater. I like your Saturday routine though, Wreck ’Em TECH!!

WRECK 'EM, TECH!

You are right. It is time to start charging the old batteries in the old body and be ready for an exciting game. GO! FIGHT! WIN!

Keep it simple and we beat OSU

I have seen quite a few of OSU games over the past week and I just get the feeling that if we keep it simple we beat them. Now ofcourse if our QB throws 3 or more interceptions in the game or is not able to find open receivers then we can beat ourselves but otherwise I don’t think Cowboys have much chance here. I hoping for a blowout win just as UT did with them. They do look vulnerable against quality teams and so I think we have a great chance to win this one out on the road at Stillwater.

This is the calm before the storm.....

It’s going to be a nasty day in Stillwater. Choking, biting, punching, kicking, and general ass whooping. I’ve been fired up for this game for a few weeks now.

Anchors away! And all that other pirate speak!

Wreck Em!
