Make your prediction for the game. What will happen, who will lead the offense and the defense and predict the final score.

Synopsis of the Game: I honestly have no idea how this is going to play out. That OU defense is just brutal against offenses and my faith in the offensive line is shaken. Conversely, the Oklahoma offense has been awful on the road, a sign of a young team still trying to figure things out (see Texas Tech) and for whatever reason, the team doesn't rush like they do at home and Landry Jones doesn't perform as well. I honestly believe that this is a pick'em game, it could go either way, but I'll take the good guys in this case.

Offensive MVP: RB Baron Batch

Defensive MVP: DT Colby Whitlock

Final Score: Oklahoma 26, Texas Tech 28

I'm with Seth

I don’t trust our O line against the OU D. I know our offensive stats look decent on the season, but anyone who has watched any of our games should know to be concerned. On the other hand, I feel good about our D stopping their run game since the QB scramble for 15 yards on 3rd and 13 doesn’t seem to be an option for Jones (hopefully he doesn’t decide to give it a shot starting this week). What worries me is our defense has shown to be somewhat bipolar, our offense definitely has, OU’s offensive has (especially on the road), but the OU defense hasn’t faltered all year it would seem. For that reason alone:

TTU 14 OU 17
OMVP: WR corps makes up for buttery fingers last week… Torres leads the way.
DMVP: Sharpe is the obvious pick… so let’s say Bird just to switch it up a bit.

Ugh

I think this Tech team is emotionally and physically wiped out from the weirdness that has been our season. I think OU and Landry Jones had the light bulb go off in the last two weeks, so OU should be ready for this one. They, like us, are playing for a bit of pride. I think the fact that the field is level regarding the amount of excellence neither team has exhibited this year will play to the hands of the team with the better athletes and players – OU.

I don’t trust our offensive line one lick in this game so Potts will be running for his life all morning. He hasn’t shown the ability to throw on the run (or the ability to run) so far. This one gets out of hand late after a close one for three qtrs.

TECH ON TOP

only if the tech offense plays like they did against UT.
and if our defense plays like they did against Nebraska.
and they catch them with their pants down.

Wow! Well I, for one, am staying on the bandwagon!

I think this Tech team has one more great performance in them! I think we beat OU this weekend and then struggle with Baylor in Dallas. But I think the score this weekend will be back and forth all game. Both defenses will play great, but each offense will get a few big plays. Taylor Potts will look much better.
OMVP: Potts (yeah, I said it)

I say Potts wins this one for us with a few TD passes and batch gets a few also. Our team is good this year and the cards just aren’t falling the right way. They will tomorrow.

Too much defense on OU for Tech to get anything going. O-line and QB will keep our defense on the field all day and exhaust them. I’ll be there and I sincerely hope I’m wrong.

by Raider1992 on Nov 20, 2009 9:39 AM CST reply actions

I hope I'm wrong.....

But this O Line is not so good buddy. Can we try Jeffers at Wildcat? If its Potts and he doesn’t make some pact with the devil for one game’s worth of magic, I say OU 34, Tech 21. Thats 2 or 3 scores due to pick 6 or just short field positions. Knowing that Leach doesn’t care if he gets beat by 60 or 6, the OU score could be higher…..but I have gained much respect for the Defense this year (although they do make me pull my hair out during the games).
Very odd year, but at least I made the trip to our best game of the year against NU.

We're going to win.

Don’t ask me for a how, or what the score will be.

Here’s my most probable scenario: Someone broke a glass box marked “USE ONLY IN EMERGENCY” in the Athletic Director’s office last night and blew a magic conch shell. This summoned Graham Harrell, Michael Crabtree, Rylan Reed, Louis Vasquez, and Eric Morris back from the NFL/Canada. They all flew into Lubbock International Airport last night and will be secretly playing on Saturday before going back to the NFL/Canada. Tech by 30 points.

To me it's more of the same

I went into the K State feeling they would run all over us. We stuffed the run. We beat Nebraska in Lincoln so I thought we’d come home and kill the Aggies. We get killed. Because of this I thought Kansas would beat us. But the defense shows up again. No problem, with the D showing up I thought we would contain O State. I’m wrong again. Based on this formula then, we will beat OU because we looked bad last week.

Go Figure……

A lot of people were saying we weren’t supposed to beat Nebraska, so I hope that one isn’t already used up for the season!

Your post reminded me of something that gives me hope.

The last time they came to town I didn’t think we had a chance…maybe we’ll find a way.

Strangest Texas Tech football season I can remember.

OU – 28
TT – 10

Ever since Sticks went down with the foot injury I lost a lot of confidence in this team…and I think a lot of the players did as well. I suppose we could win……I hope we do…but I don’t think we will.

Here’s to next year!!

It would be nice to OU pick up yet another 1 pt loss… Obviously I’d love to see them lose period, but close ones always hurt a bit.

Not good enought

This August we were looking forward to pay back for last year ass whipping from OU. Now we are saying wait till next. What’s next year got to do with it. It simply beat Texas and OU in the same year first. It will not happen next year based on this year performance. Tech has a good game but falls short. O28 Tech 17

by double-t on Nov 20, 2009 10:56 AM CST reply actions

Just good enough

I can find no solace in predicting a loss, only despair and anguish would fill my soul should I do so. I choose hope in the face of adversity and laugh at the idea of being realistic and pragmatic. Tech has beaten OU in Lubbock the last two times they were supposed to be rolled by the mightily arrogant Sooners. Tomorrow won’t be any different, the defense plays their heart out and the offense finds a way to score enough points to win the game. And I will be there to see it.

Finding a way..

Defense wins this game for us. I think we get a couple of turnovers that give Potts a short field to work with (much like the Kansas game).

Crazy season

These games have been too tough to call so I’m calling it two ways this time. My inner Tech92 (my realist side) says that the OU defense will overwhelm our offense and Potts will be on the turf a ton. This keep our defense on the field and they get worn out as we have seen on occasion this year. That leads to a route late.

OU – 45
Tech – 20

However, my inner KWashburn (my never say die side) says that we have beaten good OU teams in Lubbock on the last couple of occasions and it is the last home game for the seniors. We have a lot to play for and I think Potts has something to prove before the year ends. We looked bad last week so, as this season has somewhat dictated, we should look great tomorrow.

Tech – 31
OU – 17

Either way, I won’t be surprised.

WE WILL WIN!

I was one of the unfortunate ones to witness that meltdown in Norman in person last year. After getting over my grief, I took my daughter son & 2 nephews to Toas Ski Valley about a month latter. There was this idiot about 3 cars down gets out and puts on a ou uniform I’m talking football helmet , shoulder pads, football pants looked like he was ready to step on the field in Norman (dude get a life). Made me sick again. I had to look at this idiot on and off all day long. When we got on the shuttle to head back to the car of course this idiot is on my shuttle. We had lots of Tech students on this shuttle and they started Raider Power. This idiot turns and says what was that score. I said yall have to come to Lubbock next year pall! God I dispise arrogant ou fans. Please God we just gotta win.

I'm going to have to agree with an above post

dont ask me how, but we will find a way to win. I feel it. Even though its 1130, atmosphere around lubbock is already electric. Crowd may not be record breaking, but WILL have an impact on the game. Then there’s the revenge factor. This one is ours for the taking.
