I’m pretty sure it started in the 90s, Florida used to(?) throw oranges to note they wanted to go to the Orange bowl, some team around here (UT?) threw Cotton to show excitement for the Cotton Bowl. Our guys wanted something to do, tortillas were cheap and “TexMex” kinda thing, so people started taking them to games and throwing them up in the air.
AFAIK, that’s the background of it.

But yeah…I think next year he’ll be real good. Half his issues this year are due to our inexperienced O-line.
I think this game shows that if you give him time, “Nick” can do pretty well. Not saying he’s unstoppable, but he can run the offense pretty well if you give him protection.
