OU @ Texas Tech Post Game Thread

A good win to make sure we are eligible for a bowl, and a big one for Leach.  Feel free to revel here.

[Note by Seth C, 11/21/09 3:11 PM CST ]  This is a bell-ringer sort of win.  Git Your Guns Up!

Great game by eveyone

Offensive line, defensive line, running backs, Nick, etc. So proud of the resiliency of this team.

number 70 sucks as an O lineman. I watched him whiff 6 plays in a row. Had Taylor played instead of Nick, it would have been ugly. Other than that, Hell of a game!

I just want to say that I have a strange feeling for the Texas game.......

Which one?

You mean the one today with Kansas or the Thanksgiving encounter with Baylor?

I meant A&M sorry!!

With Kansas......

Don’t know why, just have that feeling…..

Really? I think Texas will blow them out. They could hang a ton of points on them but I think Mack Brown would pull his first team out and give them rest if Texas pulls ahead early.

I am Amazed !!

And somewhat surprised…and thrilled for the players and coaches.

A very good team win.

I think the defense was awesome. I am so going to miss watching Walls make plays. He has clearly become a favorite for me.

Batch runs like an ole time smash mouth running back. He delivers licks as often as he gets them.

Potts had a very good game as well. He did fine and showed some of the potential that we have all been looking to see. I think he can make a step change between now and Fall.

It was fun seeing Mike Leach get a blue gaterade shower, he seemed to not have enjoyed it.

In final, I wonder the thoughts going through Jacoby Franks’ mind about now….

Great Win!!

That was a fantastic win. I am so happy for coach Leach and I am happy that I was so wrong about Potts. He did seem like he has turned the corner. I did like Nick Potts much better than the Taylor Potts version we had seen earlier. Great win for Tech.

Oh for the laughs Beergut was on the creamsonandcreammachine giving his advice on how OU needs to defend Tech

by jef on Nov 21, 2009 3:59 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

That was OU's problem today

they just wouldn’t listen to the wisdom that is Beergut.

If you want to see some more “wisdom” of beergut, check out his dirty dozen rankings. I made the argument that tech should be just one spot above aTm due to their horrible loss last week, and his ONLY argument goes back to their win over us from a month ago and how it makes it impossible for this to happen. Its a perfect example of trying to argue with the irrational folks who worship a strange brownish-purple color.

Wow, I had no idea Tech could play a dominating ball control game. They looked stellar today on both sides of the ball. Leach committed to the run and McNeil committed to attacking. What a great game to watch. OU was never in this game.

It always seems Tech needs a crazy 8-10 minute span where they post 30 points to make a game ugly. But today was good, solid, punch-them-in-the-eye football all game long. I’ll take this over the frenetic stuff we are known for. Was super fun to watch Batch just take this thing over…Nick, errr, Potts have time…Torres pull away from the secondary…and the defense just stiffle everything OU tried. Save for a few stupid defensive penalties, this was a near perfect showing. Hats off to coaches, players, cheerleaders, fans, TV guys, my wife and kid, and the Free Credit Band.

I would like

To apologize to Nick, Ruff and Leach for not believing we would win today. However, I think it was the o and d lines that won this…no slight to anyone.
I should also apologize for my behavior at the spoon in the 80’s….fat dawgs too. I probably overpaid at the beer garden, no apology.
In person at Jerry world next week.

We are actually taking a tour

Of the stadium Friday. And I’ll be looking for some sort of sports bar in there where we can watch the OU/State game which is at like 2. I hear you get to even see the lockerrooms on the tour, might be a good penalty kill for time if you’ve got in-laws coming to DFW for Thanksgiving.
Especially because if you’re like me, you refuse to shop on Black Friday.

Favorite game of the season

I think Nick was player of the game. . Batch is a close second for me, just because he was so tough out there.

Jump Around!!! Revenge is so sweet.

I’m gonna have to go with Batch for the mvp. The Nick – Alex “Red Lobster” Torres connection came in a close second, though.

Hearing jump around and seeing our team go crazy made this year a sucess in my eyes.

REDEMPTION!

I went to and thoroughly enjoyed the game today. We put an ol country whipping on ou. Stoopes and company had that one coming today. Paybacks are hell. Bet he wasn’t near as arrogant in his postgame today as he was last year. I am from Plainview and have really enjoyed watching Jamar Wall as a Bulldog and a Red Raider what a great kid from a great family. I thought Nick had a great game. Torres is a hoss and is going to be fun to watch in the future. Defense was great today. JUST A GREAT DAY!

Could have been sweeter

Glad to see the official nailed him, however, it would have been awesome if we would have nailed him right before the goal line with the ball going out of the endzone! Typical Sooner style ball!!
