Make your prediction for the game. What will happen, who will lead the offense and the defense and predict the final score.
Synopsis of the Game: This should be a game that's never in doubt. There's talent on the Baylor side of the field, but there's more talent on the Texas Tech side. This should be a game that the offensive and defensive lines simply dominate. It's been a while since I picked a quarterback for the MVP, but I think Taylor Potts is maturing and there's a lot to like about how he played last week. On the defensive side of the ball, I'll take CB Jamar Wall to have a game reflective of his season . . . outstanding.
Offensive MVP: QB Taylor Potts
Defensive MVP: CB Jamar Wall
Final Score: Texas Tech 42, Baylor 14

Great day to be a Red Raider
Tech comes out strong, stays strong, finishes strong. Another great day in the trenches which is why the score will be TTU 49 Baylor 10.

Cotton, Holiday or Alamo
Cotton if OK St gets a BCS & Nebraska is embarrased in the Big 12 title game. Holiday if the above happens & Ok St doesn’t get a BCS bid. Alamo if the Cotton and/or Holiday bowls prefer Nebraska to Tech (they will wind up with 1 more win than Tech and record tends to trump head to head).

The team is flat for the first 1 1/2 quarters after last week’s showing and getting settled in on the road. The get it together and show that we are 3rd in the South for a reason.
OMVP: Torres Run game does well, but Leach is stubborn and ran enough last week for this week too. We show Baylor that relatively nice pass D stats don’t mean anything against this O when we are clicking.
DMVP: Cody Davis put a nice exclamation point on his first regular season… looking forward to 3 more!

Tech – 77
Baylor – 13
two fieldgoals early and a late td that causes ruffs head to explode. The galloping gobbler goes to potts who walks of the field begging for the big 12 schedule next year to thunderous applause from the fans that don’t leave early.

Jerry Jones World Here We Come!
Red Raiders click on offense and score on the first five possessions. Defense shuts Baylor down all day only allowing one touchdown.
OMVP: Batch – continues his stellar play, over 100 yards rushing
DMVP: Sharpe – 3 sacks added to his total
TTU 56 BU 10

I predict I lose all kinds of brownie points with the wife
when I bail on her up in Ruidoso to go find a bar with the game on.

You will gain points with me if you do that.
I blew off my best friends wedding reception to watch the Holiday Bowl with Tech. What jackass schedules a wedding, shower, or reception when there is Tech football going on?

Tough
I feel this is going to be a tough game, but a win none the less. Baylor has absolutely nothing to lose and we do, but the Bears make it a game for three quarters before the offense finally manages a couple of quick scores to seal the deal. With that being said, I think Potts and Batch finally show their abilities as Tech does pull away late in the 3rd quarter and into the 4th quarter. Because of the Bears double-teaming Sharpe, I think Whitlock, though inside, has a monster day and gets a couple or three sacks to go with a couple or three from others.
OMVP: Potts, Batch combo
DMVP: Whitlock
Score: Tech 35, Baylor 20
With Nebraska winning big today, it looks like they will probably get the Cotton Bowl, if OSU defeats OU, as they should. So, it appears we will probably be able to play in the Holiday Bowl. That is what i see happening. If better, YEA! If worse, UGH, but OK!

Not so fast my friend

It’s 21-14 Nebraska in the 3rd quarter with Zac Lee out of the game due to injury. So they haven’t won “big” – at least not yet.

Correct
I was a bit premature, but NU did win and are now 9-3 for the year. The hope for a Cotton Bowl invitation hinges on the outcome of three games: Tech vs Baylor Saturday at Jerry’s World; UT vs NU at Jerry’s World the following week; OU vs OSU Saturday at Stillwater. Tech is in line for anything, but if the Cotton Bowl committee members are impressed enough with Tech, then Tech may wind up having the inside rail for the Cotton Bowl bid. As well as Tech’s fans travel, they could actually have a say into this whole scenario. So, regrouping, I prefer a Cotton Bowl bid (I’d be crazy to think otherwise) for the Red Raiders. Since our fans do travel well, having been instrumental in setting the Cotton Bowl attendance record last year, Tech may have an inside chance at returning to play in the Cotton Bowl, which will be played in Jerry’s World for the first time. If all that happens, then WONDERFUL! And I will be cheering for a blowout against the “Bars”, as Davey Crockett would call them…….GO….TECH!

It will be a tough game. But Baylor itself will not be the problem. Even though his team isn’t playing, the Raiders will have to overcome the best QB the world has ever seen. Yes, the child-faced Colt will go 11 of 10 for 12 TDs, 13 of which go to his BFF, roommate, and co-owner of Brokeback Bayou, their favorite place to relax, fish, and look longingly into each other’s eyes. Mack Brown will interrupt the TV coverage of the game [again] for endless babbling and insufferable whining. By the time the TV announcers finish their homage to the one real God and return to the game, the stadium will be empty and the field dark. Rumors will circulate for years about who played and who won, but Tech will be generally considered the winner because no one wants to fight Brian Carter.
