Happy, happy camper. Texas A&M showed their other side, yet again, losing to pretty much the worst the Big XII has to offer – Colorado. To make the day even sweeter, Notre Dame kissed any remote chance of a BCS bid goodbye in losing to Navy – at home.
Now, if Bama can hold on for the next 10 minutes and Neb can somehow sneak by OU, it will be the icing on the cake.
Next week’s game in Stillwater is going to be tough. Guess it depends on which Tech team decides to show up. I was bored this afternoon and rewatched parts of the Kansas game. It sure would be great to see us establish the run next week. It will make things so much easier for Potts who I assume will be the starter. Let’s hope the defense plays inspired once again. I’m looking forward to next Saturday!

Oregon State Beavers mimicking Tech offense
If you are close to a tv, I would encourage you to look at Oregon State vs. Cal game. Look at the offense Oregon State is running, its a very near replication of the Tech offense so far. In fact it’s an athletic equivalent of plagiarism because the Pac 10 commentators are crediting Oregon State’s ‘unique offense’ as if the “Air Raid” did not exist for the past 9 years.
Win out!
That is all I ask of this team. They could end up with a low teen, 12 or 11 ranking if they do, because if they do get into a BCS game, they will be matched up against a really good team, maybe even Boise State. At any rate, this “rebuilding” team could show the world Tech is actually “reloading” each year now. And 2010 could shape up as another chance to go all the way. Hmmmm. Doesn’t that sound good?
TTpilk
Next to winning out, seeing a&m somehow get it together and beat ut at kyle field would make my year.
Wow, OU is really struggling against Nebraska and Tulsa is beating Houston. All I can say is…weird season.

I never had anything against atm until their pet troll started badgering us. Funny how one guy (who probably never went there) can turn you against a team.
But it would be kinda fun to watch UT turn itself inside-out if atm won.
Yeah maybe you’re right, I’ve been blinded by my dislike of ut.

Each major league roster
Has 11? Pitchers. In college/minors everybody gets their turn and if you can pitch, you continue to get PT. In football, you may never see the field and waste your talent. Sticks almost went 4 years w/o getting a chance to show what he can do, no MLB scout will ever tell a kid he’s not the right height or weight.
OU is just another team this year…and that may be the case for a few. Landry Jones is not good and has not gotten any better as he’s gone along this year. I think the South will be a Tech/UT race next fall…unless the Aggies ever figure out how to coach that 4- and 5-star talent, then they could be in the mix as well.
A&M is the Michigan of the Big 12.
They get 4 and 5 star recruits almost exclusively, yet every year they underperform. They should start losing the amount of scholarships they can give to 4 and 5 star recruits if they don’t win at least 9 games per year.
I hate to compare A&M to Michigan, because UMich is the best program in the history of college football. However, as of now they’re struggling.
I'm curious

Who have we failed to coach?
Looking at the last two years:
2008 class
0 five star recruits
6 four star recruits
DT Rod Davis – redshirted last season, hasn’t played this season. Has ability, but is lazy and doesn’t work hard in practice, so he hasn’t seen the field yet this season.
WR Jeff Fuller – star WR for us, set a freshman record for TD receptions last season, missed 4 games this year b/c of injury, but has 21 reception for 252 yds and 3 TDs on the season so far.
RB Cyrus Gray – our leading rusher, star TB and KR specialist, has 131 carries for 608 yds and 5 TDs, 21 receptions for 121 yds and 2 TDs this season. Also averages 27.6 yds per kick return with one return for a TD.
ATH Derrick Hall – believe he didn’t make it in academically, not on the team roster
DE Tony Jerod-Eddie – has played in every game at DT for us the past two seasons, splits time with a senior DT this year, has started 5 of 9 games this season, has 15 tackles, 1 TFL, .5 sack, 1 fumble recovery this season
DE Matt Moss – juco recruit, has been a solid contributor this year, has started every game at strongside DE, has 17 tackles, 4 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 1 INT, 2 fumble recoveries on the season
DE Andrew Wolridge – redshirted while he made the move from LB to DE last season, has not seen the field this year.
2009 class
1 five star
4 four stars
5 star
Christine Michael – I don’t think I have to tell you about him. Y’all saw him in Lubbock.
4 stars
DB Coryell Judie – juco recruit, came in late, is redshirting after being injured in the first few games
OG Patrick Lewis – played in 8 of 9 games this season, started the last 5 in a row. Is starting as a true freshman, has shown himself to be quite a mauler at guard, is playing very, very well for us.
WR Uzoma Nwachukwu – our other star WR, started all 9 games, has 29 receptions for 597 yards, averages 20.6 yds per receptions, 6 TDs, 5 carries, 47 yds, 1 TD rushing
LB Jonathan Stewart – started 7 of 9 games as a true freshman this season, 23 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 QBH, he is extremely raw but an athlete we want on the field
Who has Sherman’s staff failed to coach up? I guess you could point to Rod Davis, but that seems to be a motivational issue (MCKinner Dixon, anyone?), and Wolridge just seems to need more itme to make it onto the field.
It's pretty self-evident
Thanks for the long explanation but totally unnecessary.
I'm not worthy. Really.
Man, looks like the refs helped Alabama win again
I don’t really have a dog in this fight, but Alabama/Florida seem to have the refs in their pocket game after game. The latest – a non-interception by LSU:
Refs were balancing their accounts with LSU
In this game LSU probably got their just desserts. They probably would have lost to Georgia if the referees had not called an unnecessary celebration penalty on georgia which put LSU in a very advantageous position on the field with less than a minute left on clock and this ruling going against LSU is probably then justice refs style. Who says two wrongs cannot make one right? Just ask the SEC refs!!
