All-Big 12 Team

No No

Less with more is Mike Sherman… Mack Brown does pretty much exactly what is expected with his caliber of athletes.

Gotta be disappointed if you're a horn fan

Only 1 player off of the “legion of doom” celebrated defense makes 1st team all-con??? too funny.

I take exception to 2 of the selections. One is Trent Williams from OU who was certainly all-conf last year, but played terrible this year. And Ulatoski on the 2nd team all-conf OL. Even my UT friends bitch about him constantly getting beat week after week.

Hey, didn't Texas get robbed last year as well?

It seems Bill Belichick is a Romer disciple as well.

Man. I know Texas prides itself on high expectations and all, but it just comes as constant complaining when you hear it over and over again.

And if the coaches and administrators are douchebags, and the Big 12 is a joke of a conference, why does UT take so much pride in telling everyone that they are the best in it? Is being the “King of the Douchebags” really a good thing?

obviously being a good team and having good players must be different becasue K state has 4 first team offensive guys. haha what a joke. They are horrible. And how is Banks and all conference receiver and not one of tech’s guys is? amazing.

And where is Bryan Duncan? I’ll take him over just about anyone at LB in the big 12.

by logan5555 on Dec 1, 2009 3:59 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

He’s running back there somewhere, trying to catch up! Ha ha I love Duncan, but he is soooo slow!

by RdrPwr on Dec 2, 2009 12:23 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Damn it

If only our guys would go fishin with colt and shipley or circumcize small children in 3rd world countries with Tebow…we would own this list. We will never be loved if we aren’t seen as loveable by the almighty media. Our big 12/national championship hopes are dependent upon us getting names on more lists. More names…lists!!!

Sorry had to get in my sarcasm for the day.

NFL Players vote for Leach

Here is a link to the ESPN site. In a survey of 43 NFL players, Mike Leach is the third most popular coach after Pete Carol and Urban Meyer. Wonder why no one chose Sherman, Mack Brown or Stoops?

All Conference Players

I don’t know why anyone would gripe about having eight players on 1st and 2nd teams All Conference. And, I am not surprised Tech only has four on the team, except for Brian Duncan, who had a very outstanding year. After all, football IS a TEAM sport, with player recognition difficult if the defense plays together well as a whole, with no major standouts, just great results overall. Tech had some very outstanding players who were recognized on the team, but I think the whole defense fought through some tough times and played about as well as could ever have been expected. Same for the offense. It was still one of the best in the country, even in a “down” year. I look forward to the bowl game and to another great year in 2010.

Ducan not being on the list isn’t so bad. I think the worst is Demarco Murray being the other 2nd team running back. Hardly.

Analysis

You would think that K State’s offense was dominant based on these lists. To the contrary, in the Big 12, they were ranked 9th in points scored, last in passing yards, 9th in total yards, and third in rushing yards.

The second-team linebackers were potentially better as a unit than the first-teamers, especially Dillard from Nebraska.

Jamar Wall deserved a first-team nod, probably over one of the Nebraska guys, who hid behind their front 7.

Eldridge and Murray both received recognition based on OU reputation as opposed to performance this year, especially Eldridge, who was injured. Batch was more deserving than Murray. Batch had more rushing yards and scored more points than did Murray.

Lots of talent in this conference.
