49ers on MNF - Crabtree
Just thought I would mention it if anybody is interested. Game is on ESPN. He is doing well and has caught several passes and had a huge block that led to a 49ers TD. Hopefully he can score his second TD tonight. Game is against the Cardinals at San Francisco. Hopefully some of our recruits can see what Texas Tech has made of him and the Air raid offense. I will say the QB for the 49ers needs work.

yeah crab is doing alright. He had a catch over the middle on their last possession where he was stopped short of the first down. Great tackle and the guy was right on him. In college he probably gets the 1st down. Just shows how good everyone is in the NFL.

The YAC on that 3rd down under route is what us Raider fans are accustomed to from him.

My office lease offers a package where I pay about $60 mo. for a small flat screen and DirecTV
of course, I never think to turn it on because when I’m here, I’m busy, but I’t worth it just to know I have it. Plus, I use it quite often to let my clients’ kids while I talk to their parents in the conference room.
Anyway, that TD catch was a objet D’art

Well there's Crab's second TD
nice 36 yard comletion, Crabtree runs a solid 15 yards after the difficult catch to get in.

Man it is so fun to watch him play. On that last awesome catch he didn't really have the angle on the d back and simply turns around stiff arms him and outruns on the way in.
He giving the NFL folks a schoolin’ if you ask me!

Yeah, that TD catch was pretty incredible. He did one of those things where he extends his body but somehow still stays in control enough to take his feet again. One hell of a grab and then the run after, excellent.

Crabs
Without a doubt, Crabs is being noticed for the right things. If SF QBs can just get the ball to him more often in a way where he’s not having to dive for it or reach back for it, the NFL will begin to see what we Raider fans got to see for the better part of two years. He is definitely special and I look forward to seeing him progress as his career continues onward. Next year will be his breakout year as he will be very familiar with what is expected of him and what the offense is going to do each and every play.

Hit Crabs in the numbers and hand it to that RB of theirs and they could actually have a good team.

I need SF to get better
So they’ll get more national TV. I refuse to buy that package you can ONLY get on DTV.

Crab kind of disappeared in the second half after having such a good first
but that was less on him than OC Jimmy Raye’s inexplicable strategy of not running the ball to bleed clock but also not passing the ball to Vernon Davis or Crabtree. San Fran’s offensive playcalling is really head-scratchingly bad.

he did have a key 3rd down conversion in the 4th. Yet another play that he would have likely taken to the house in college.
Alex Smith is really, really bad, though. If the niners don’t draft a QB or pick up a young free agent that’s shown promise, well, i will have to scratch my head. Lefevor will probably be available in the mid-round draft spots that the niners are likely to have. Bradford might be around there, depending on how much his hurt shoulder effects his draft stock. Granted, heisman QB’s have flopped in the league the last few years, but there’s not much you can do about that. There’s always the option of dropping all of the qb’s on that roster and picking Graham up from the Canadians.

you read my mind about Graham
Several of the throws to Crabs throughout the game were off by 5-10 yards. I couldn’t decide if the QB was throwing the ball away when he didn’t need to, or if he was just really that bad.

I think the NFL people are fairly pleased with Alex Smith’s progression from what is said on various sites (Chris Mortensen and Rick Gosselin seem to think he’ll be okay). I know we want Harrell to play, but come on.
He hasn’t gotten a sniff from anyone in the league. That say’s something…and not just that ALL 32 GMs are clueless. The guy couldn’t break into the active roster much less the line-up in Canada (though I do think there was a report he was dinged up…somehow). Not to hate on him at all, but let’s be realistic. Tech has never had a QB in the Leach era do anything after college…and that’s fine.

System
Crabree would be doing better if he had not come from the “system”. Throw UP.

Substandard QBs at NFL
I am tired of seeing these terrible QB’s from NCAA being hired by NFL coaches, while passing up great QB’s like Harrell and Daniels because they come from the ‘system’. What logic do these NFL coaches actually apply, that some non-achieving NCAA QB will all of a sudden magically transform into a superstar NFL QB, when they couldn’t perform in the NCAA in the first place? and the QB’s like Harrell or Kingsbury who were able to adjust to a higher level of competition in NCAA after graduating from their high schools will somehow lose that ability to evolve into great NFL QB’s?

Graham screwed himself over by tripping over his own feet twice in the allstar game. I think that if he would have stood out there, he may have been picked up. But yeah, I see your point. Taking the snaps from under center can be learned quickly. And Graham can make reads and hit receivers on the money extremely well. He would help out SEVERAL teams this year.

If I was Oakland...
I would have picked up Graham Harrell regardless of how he performed in the All-Star game. I would have said screw it, and risk my pick for him because if any team needs a QB it’s got to be Oakland.
