Tech coach Pat Knight said after the game that he knew the non-conference road trip could pose a problem, but he hopes the experience helps later this season.
"A lot of schools would schedule somebody you never heard of at home," Knight said. "We put our guys into the fire by playing Wichita State at their place. If I schedule weak teams at home just to stay ranked, that doesn’t do anything for us."

I'm busy this morning so no morning notes, but I'll post some post-game thoughts tonight. The thing that stands out the most is the nine turnovers by Mike Singletary and had a turnover rate yesterday of 56%.

Singletary's TO's
warrant some investigations to understand them. I did not hear all the game, but I did hear the repeated comment that Singletary was dragging his pivot foot and getting traveling calls. He may have been doing that from the get go and just ran into a ref that noticed it and who was determined to call it ‘right.’ I am not intending to say that the ref cost TTU the game, they played good enough as a team in spurts to win, they did not, as a team, maintain enough consistency, especially on defense to win.
No
Singletary legitimately turned the ball over 9 times. Politics will be politics in terms of ref calls in any sport. The buzzer-beater against Washington is something to be upset about.
But Singletary flat out needs to take care of the ball better. He has no excuses.
And where is his game? Where is the Singletary that washed 40+ pts against A&M in the Big 12 Tournament. I want to see that Singletary. Not this 11 pt per game Singletary who looks like he is playing like he is off the bench.
