I hate to see any redshirt lose a year of eligibility just to play in one game. But I guess our Waddle had it worse than that. He only played 2 quarters.
I have a nagging fear that their WR situation will force them into a scheme that puts a heavy emphasis on TEs. We aren’t really used to that and it will take advantage of our lack of speed in the LB corps.
Our LBs are used to covering small and fast inside receivers. While having to cover a larger TE is an issue in itself, I wouldn’t say our LB’s lack of speed is cause for concern. All LBs should be able to keep up with TEs.

Yeah, but not very well. We’ve been burned in that area.
Burned hell.. we've been torched
Our Tech linebackers are in fact very average in covering tight ends. The tall, medium speed guys (with good hands) have torched us a lot. Minnesota, Nebraska – 08, Oklahoma 08, Ole Miss and Virginia. They all had short passing success against Ruffin. All these team got points, multiple first downs and generally made life miserable for the Raider defense. The Spartan QB K. Cousin is an accurate passer. The MSU off coordinator is a smart guy. There is an MSU play action, short pass option to the TE coming at lasts 10- 15 snaps in Alamo bowl. Take it to the bank folks.
