Texas Tech Tuesday Morning Notes - Let's Stay Together Edition

This Goes Out to a Certain Coach, a Certain AD, and a Certain Chancellor -- Let's Stay Together

If the awesome combination of Al Green, Justin Timberlake, Boyz II Men and Keith Urban can't keep this together, I don't know who can.

DTN's Top Three:

  1. Rush the Court checks in on the Big 12.
  2. BOTC with this week's outlook.
  3. Rock M Nation looks at who they think will get in the field of 65.

Texas Tech Out of Way Too Early Top 25

ESPN's Mark Schlabach writes that Texas Tech is out of his way too early top 25 and ESPN's Big 12 blogger Tim Griffin's way too early Big 12 power rankings has Texas Tech checking in at #6. I don't put much stock into rankings whether a writer has Texas Tech really high or really low. Just food for thought.

Leach Stuff, Day #2

Spin is an awesome thing. LAJ's Don Williams (and here) and DMN's Brandon George have obtained new emails and correspondence as well as quotes from Leach's agents regarding Leach's loyalty and that the email to the Board of Regents is just a big misunderstanding. I don't have time to get to all of this, this morning, so feel free to draw your own conclusions. I would just keep in mind that Friday's public relations shot in this saga was essentially fired by Texas Tech, while this morning's shot was fired by IMG.

It's all about spin, saving face, looking good, etc. I get the feeling that IMG was in full panic mode this weekend after seeing some of the fan reaction online. IMG had no choice but to try and make Leach look like a loyalist to Texas Tech. Baldwin's quotes in today's stories are pretty self-serving and it's easy for him to say that he was never a candidate, but someone was making Leach a candidate for those jobs . . .

It will probably be Texas Tech's turn to fire a public relations shot in a couple of days.

Dr. Saturday's Matt Hinton and EDSBS's Orson Swindle, a.k.a. Spencer Hall discuss Leach's situation.

I knew there was a reason I don’t watch the Grammy’s. Didn’t Boys to Men have 4 people in it?

at the very end, it panned to the right and there were 3 guys standing there. I assumed that was supposed to be them.

If you had

fast-forwarded to about 1:40 you would have witnessed that the Reverend Al Green has still got it. Granted, Timberlake didn’t do much for me, but that Al Green is freaking awesome.

All I could think is “I want to punch Justin Timberlake in the face”. I did fastforward and you are right the Rev still has it and he blew JT out of the way.
