Preview

LAJ's Jeff Walker previews tonight's game and this should be a fun game to watch. Bot teams are not very big and like to run. Perhaps with Texas Tech playing at home, the Red Raiders can control the turnovers and outscore the Cowboys. I'll go out on a limb and say that Texas Tech wins this game, despite the fact that the numbers say that OSU should win this game easily.

Keys to the Game:

  1. Post Up Lew: I keep harping on this, but very few teams have a low-post threat like Robert Lewandowski. He should get his fair share of opportunities against OSU and he should be able to get some fouls on the Cowboys, perhaps forcing a lineup change that isn't as effective.
  2. Don't Let Them Get Hot: OSU is a streaky team and the last thing that I want to see is any of the OSU players get hot from the perimeter. I mentioned this as a key the last time these teams faced-off and I still think that the key is to continue that permimeter pressure
  3. Win One For Texas Tech: I mentioned it some time ago that I was in a sports-malaise after the loss in the Cotton Bowl and with contract negotiations going south, I'd love to remove myself from having to think Leach and contract negotiation for a few hours.

GO RAIDERS . . .

*Stats can be found at Ken Pomeroy: K.P. Rank = the Ken Pomeroy Rank; Offensive Efficiency = the national rank in terms of points scored per 100 possessions; Defensive Efficiency = the national rank in terms of points allowed per 100 possession. Numbers in parentheses are national rank.

WHA?

74-68 with 4 minutes to go?! What’s going on here?

What a comeback.

I almost turned it off, but I left it on in the background for a couple minutes.

I turn back around, and it’s like a 17 point game. So I decided to keep it on…

What a comeback.

Rooting hard for Tech.

Go Red Raiders!

Ha!

I had turned this off until I saw the comments…had to turn it back on. We are really bad…but at least they are making this one exciting. I hope they pull it off!

No FGs

Looks like we have held them for over six minutes or so without a field goal…only one point in last 11 min.

by Techsan71 on Feb 18, 2009 10:32 PM CST reply actions

Almost did it

Put up a good fight, but just too much to overcome.

Well...

We made it interesting. Didn’t need to go for the bomb…should have tried to go to the hoop. Great effort after being down by so much.

67-65 in the 2nd half? that’s a whole game’s scoring…
