Time to call out Don Williams....
It is time to call Don Williams out for what he is..
His local-yokel good ole boy ,lets not upset the University, homer and his too close to the story perspective is part of the reason why Texas Tech is viewed on a national stage as red neck and backwards...when programs(and writers that follow said program) start to win and hit the national stage things like coaches want more money happen(and articles like the ones I have been reading from Don...meaning I could reference dozens of writers, radio stations like the Dallas station with Sean Salisbury that is BLASTING TECH for this and not signing Leach to an extension while he was winning, and yes it is one side but instead of writing about both sides, he instead "homers out").
Fans that expect to win and schools that have a history of winning didn't get to where they are by treating their best coach like this..and you WONDER WHY he had a wondering eye???
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Double-T Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Double-T Nation's writers or editors.

You are right
Where I wouldn’t say that Tech is considered ‘redneck’, I would say that it is generally considered 2nd or 3rd rate and the Leach era has done most to bring Tech football out of that category. And I do agree, whether it be Rivals.com or ESPN or the interview on CBS radio, it is Texas Tech who looks bad and 3rd rate for their treatment of Leach, most especially over the 4 points of contention.
Should Leach leave, one way or another, as a result of this negotiating debacle, it will be Tech that will probably only find a coach from the 3rd rank tier. Leach will go on successfully to another venture. (my view only)
