Good news for Tech football... who do we thank?

It’s great that Mike Leach will remain the football coach at Texas Tech.  My thanks to those who helped it happen.  I don’t think that anyone knows exactly who those people are -  but evidently many of you think you know who those people were not.

So we need to fire Myers?  Hance and the BOR are all morons with no business running Texas Tech?  Mike doesn’t want to stay in Lubbock – heck, he isn’t even loyal…  all he wants to do is parlay this gig into a better one – it’s all about the money.

By golly,  if things don’t happen the way we think they should, and when we think they should, then we just might be finished with the Red Raiders, huh?

Do you feel a little silly now?

When will we learn that regardless of the media’s reporting, and all of the so-called expert opinions based upon supposed “reliable sources close to the situation,”  we really don’t know what is really going on.

It is interesting to me that once the deadline came and went,  tons of folks expected the worst.   Then, without much fuss,  both sides got it done.  I know it’s early, and it’s likely that more details will come out,  but I didn’t hear any mention of Leach’s agents in the press conference.  That might be a significant point.

Who cares?  I believed Mike would be around next year, and now, he should be around even longer.   That's good news for Tech football - and Great news for Red Raider fans.  Thank you Coach Leach, for hanging in there.  Wreck 'em, Tech!

Thank Goodness!

Thank goodness that Leach and Hance got in a room together and hammered it out! I am certainly relieved and would agree that no one really knew what was going on.

If this stuff would have never been revealed, then all of us would have been a lot better off.

That said, I believe that there was a breakdown of leadership to allow it to get this far. That needs to get fixed.

I am thrilled Myers said what he said about wanting Mike to remain as head coach.

A view from behind

and you would be able to see Hance’s hand reaching inside Myer’s back, controlling the movement of the mouth and throwing his voice….it really wasn’t Myers, just a BIG DUMMY!

Myer’s wife probably left town to keep from being hit by thrown items, and until he could cool down.

Sorry…. just having some fun there.

After all this, this trio may actually start getting along real well. After all, the success of the football program just about guarantees all of them a secure job. This contractual agreement is just the beginning, or maybe the carrying on from last year, of a Tech rise and continued existence in the rarefied air of the top tier of NCAA football BCS Championship teams. This is good….and everyone is happy…………….right, Gerald?

And they all lived happily ever after....

Sorry for the sarcasm but I could resist. Winning and success has a way of curing a lot of bad feeling. I still find it interesting that it was Hance and Leach and not Myers that worked out the deal in the end.

I would personally like to thank.....

the moron who before last season stated that he would give $500 to see us beat UT. Congratulations, with the new ticket prices you will have to spend that much each game going forward.

Does anyone know if Seth Littrell will be returning as well? To leave the big 12 for the same job at Arizona??

Two words:

Kent Hance.

Someone get this guy a raise, and Chimy’s margarita just for good measure. Hammering out a deal in less than 15 minutes? Cheers to that.
