Texas Tech stayed close with No. 3 Oklahoma for most of the game on Saturday, but when the Red Raiders had a chance to take their first lead of the game midway through the second half, they didn’t, and the Sooners closed out a 78-63 victory in front of an announced crowd of 11,574 at United Spirit Arena.
"Our margin for error is like this," Tech head coach Pat Knight said, showing a small space between his index finger and thumb. "You’ve got to hit one of those shots to put you over the top. It really gets the crowd into it, and I’ve got to say, I’ve got to thank everyone that showed up - the crowd was incredible. … If you hit one of those, because the crowd was so into it, this place just goes berserk."
