Ryan’s junior quarterback gave an oral commitment to the Red Raiders on Sunday night, turning down offers from SMU, Arizona and Baylor.

Oral commitments are non-binding. The first day a recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 3, 2010.

"All the coaches and everything were really great," Young said. "I think the system they run at Tech is pretty similar [to Ryan’s system]. It just seems like a good fit to me. I liked how all the coaches treated me. It seems like the place I’d like to be."
