Scotty is coached by Zac Harrell at Denton Ryan and Harrell loves drawing up comparisons between his younger brother Graham and Scotty. Film says Scotty has a bigger arm as a junior. He also throws a 90+ mph fastball in baseball.
Likely will be a 4* on both sites (Rivals hasn't rated its players yet).

Great News
Great depth coming in at the position. I really feel like our 2010 class will be a great one especially if Tech can muster a 9 or 10 win season.

I was kinda worried that Matt Joeckel would commit first. I would MUCH rather prefer Scotty.
Awesome
I really like the talent we are pulling in at QB. You’d have to be crazy as a passing QB not to try your hand at Leach’s offense. I just hope these guys keep a level head and understand they are in a long line of potentially great talent and don’t jump ship like some *cough*Chris Todd*cough* have in the past. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t be happier that Todd left, but I’d hate to see a pattern like that develop.

Ryan’s junior quarterback gave an oral commitment to the Red Raiders on Sunday night, turning down offers from SMU, Arizona and Baylor.
Oral commitments are non-binding. The first day a recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 3, 2010.
"All the coaches and everything were really great," Young said. "I think the system they run at Tech is pretty similar [to Ryan’s system]. It just seems like a good fit to me.
