Texas Tech Wednesday Morning Notes -

There's very little news out there this morning so I thought that it would be a good time to ask what you like and what you don't like. I tend to be a guy of habits and as a result, I get up early, do my thing, and then go to work and not look at DTN (sometimes during lunch) until I get home from work.

I admit that I tend to just do notes, which to me is sometimes a blessing and a curse. With the morning notes, I feel like I tend to bury stories that perhaps deserve a little more front page attention. So help me answer a couple of questions regarding format. I'm always willing and ready to make changes, and the offseason is the perfect time to get into new habits. I plan on doing more stories in the offseason and less notes, just have to make some time, probably after spring practices.

Neglected Video, Audio and Photos

TechTalk with Chris Level and Drew Dougherty had Rajon Henley tape, as well as talking about the defensive line depth, which seems to be much better than it was after Brandon Williams left, offensive line coach Matt Moore with some pretty detailed discussions about the offensive line, special teams coach Eric Russell, who is apparently wearing his guys out and making them work (pants = flying around the room), Jamar Wall is out with a minor ankle procedure and as a result, Brent Nickerson and LaRon Moore will start in the spring.

Fox34 takes a look at the safety position, with video of Cody Davis and Franklin Mitchem.

I kinda like the way it is. First place I go when I get to work. Routine you know. You have me well trained.

I think, Seth, that the strength of this blog is the notes. I wouldn’t change anything. Except maybe push your helpers into writing more stuff. >:[

fine, fine, I’ll work on something. :(

It's all good

This blog is my number one source for Tech sports, so obviously I enjoy it. I really like the way it is monitored, so that our discussions are for the most part very mature. I can’t think of anything I would change.

I guess Seth, if you could get us a couple of national championships, that might spice up the place a bit ;)

Well, Seth

You can’t expect to keep us here if you don’t include more sex. A little more Jessica, or Miley ( for those real weirdos), or Britney, or…..aaaahhhhh….. Just kiddin’.

We all check this blog out to satisfy our Texas Tech sports gut. And I think you have put together, along with those you have entrusted to provide major input, a top-line source of satisfaction. I really appreciate the efforts you all put into this blog. All those who chime in, except for a few (re: beergut and others), the majority have insightful things to discuss. And that is probably the best thing about this site: we all tend to DISCUSS things, accepting the differences of opinion as just that and nothing threatening. The only thing you might consider is splitting the “comments” section up between no more than a couple of items so we can speak up with more relevence to each subject matter. Otherwise, this is so outstanding and I feel we are all very happy to have it as a hiding place now and then

Do you mean splitting the news/notes up into more posts so the comments on notes remain more relevant or actually splitting up the comments? I do like what Seth’s been doing recently with the split notes, though with that, it’d be useful to have links to the other daily notes/stories near the top. maybe some javascript tomfoolery would help that?

I can never decide whether or not

I want the notes as the second story and the story as the first item. I’m thinking that the story item is a little more attention grabbing, depending on the story itself.

I have no idea about the javascript, we can talk about that later or by email.

that’d be a feature you’d request of the sports nation guys. just a little widget that they’d code you up to put the day’s stories at the top of the notes. no matter.

This is a great site Seth

I just hope you don’t burn out! You put a lot of work in – and it shows.

Thank you!

Best site

Best blog out there by a long shot for Tech sports. I check it all the time. I agree with most above in that the Notes, contributors, and the way the discussion is monitored is what makes this a great community and source for information.

Keep up the great work! Glad spring practice is here!
