Crabtree a "Diva"....

ESPN is reporting that the Cleveland Browns brought Crabtree in for a visit and it is reported that thay WILL NOT pick him due to him acting very much like a "Diva"... has anyone heard anything about this???

Since I need 75 words I hope that Crabtree is not overplaying his hand, as a Tech fan we want to see him drafted as high as possible and be the best WR as possible!!! I need two more words!!!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Double-T Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Double-T Nation's writers or editors.

Hope that’s not true. This is the season of misinformation in the NFL, though. Nobody will tip their hand about who they’ll pick. But, again, I hope that’s not a true assessment of his attitude to teams. Doubtful it is…

Agreed Tech92...His attitude toward Tech hasn't changed either...

The mud-slinging has started....

I don’t buy it. Cleveland’s report is contrary to almost everything I have ever read or heard about Crab. There’s a hidden agenda here, just not sure what. Who knows. But to take it further, the espn radio guys in Austin discussed it this monring. They said they were “concerned” he was not focused on the right things. Talked about work ethic being so important in the NFL. Dropped names like Chad Johnson and even Plaxico???
Maybe I missed it, but I don’t recall Crab shooting himself in the leg/foot.
He’s a good kid and hard worker from what I have heard. Best of luck to him and good luck to the teams that pass on him….

Excuse me

I believe his new legal name is now Ocho Cinco. Which oddly enough isn’t even 85 in Spanish. Funny thought, what if he were traded to a team that already had a 85?

Consider the source. Cle is a loser and that is a classless move by their organization. I for one am glad he won’t be going to that perrenial sub-500 team.

Don't take it for fact

Michael Crabtree has a great amount of abilities and he knows it, as does everyone who has ever watched him play. He is not going to say anything negative about himself, but will simply say what is the truth. If Cleveland takes that forth-righteousness as a negative, then great. As Plano said, Cleveland is not exactly the place to be. Crabs has as good a work ethic as anyone in the draft, so anything said negatively there will be wrong, too. No need to be concerned about the Browns.

Go figue

Go figure that espn radio stations (commentators) from AUSTIN,would make a quote:
"concerned" he was not focused on the right things. Talked about work ethic being so important in the NFL. Dropped names like Chad Johnson and even Plaxico???

I am a big Crabtree fan,but If he was to play for a team such as Cleveland I would probably not watch (or care) to watch him as mutch.I am still one (selfish) fan who wanted him back at TECH and took him at his word when he said he would be back right after the Cotton bowl. But make no mistake Crabtree is a genuine person who does have a work ethic that can’t be compared anywhere. He proved (what ever you call him) his position in collage ball.
Now it is time he proves to the NFL he can.And he will big time.I just wonder will there ever be a time when people in Austin quit running their mouths?

probably not……

I just watched that espn interview posted by Seth on the main page and he seems pretty humble.

Crabtree is projecting as a Top 5 pick on most pundit draftboards, and

Cleveland has the fifth pick. There’s just no way in the world that they are trying to throw the Seattle Seahawks off Crabtree’s delicious, musky scent.

Honestly..

I think Crabs is a little too shy to be a diva. Never heard of him doin much of anything to get attention here in West Texas…besides a couple of Belitnikof awards and such. From what I hear divas bitch and whine alot. Just not his style at all.

His head is getting bigger, now that I've watched the ESPN vids......

I hope he doesn’t get full of himself…. He is still young.

…saw some of those too…was a little surprised, but it kind of goes with the WR persona…I guess.

You gotta admit

that if all you heard day in and day out is how you are the best receiver to come through in years and how you are comparable to Jerry Rice that it would probably start to go to your head too. I know it is important to stay humble, especially since he hasn’t even been drafted yet, much less played a single down in the NFL… but he is constantly being told how he is the best thing since sliced bread… if I were in his spot I wouldn’t expect to keep from getting a bit of a big head.

WRs almost universally struggle in the NFL their first season. If he has gotten a big head, I’m sure it will back to normal size by the time training camp breaks. No knock on the kid, but I don’t expect much out of him his first season – especially with a very sketchy QB situation in SFO. He will be a great one, but it will be an adjustment.
