HARRELL-VASQUEZ?

Have not been keeping up with the draft.  Can anyone tell me the buzz about Harrell and Vasquez?  Where have they worked out etc.  What are the draftnicks saying about what might lie in store for each of these Raiders.  Thanks for all your insights. I cannot find a thing on Graham Harrell's activities. Where has he been preparing for the draft?  While I am at it has Brandon Williams been traveling around talking to teams?  Would find it hard to believe that these guys would go the way of former Tech players and have to sign free agent contracts with a pro team.

bwill 4th-6th rounds
harrell 6th-undrafted
Vasquez 3-6th rounds.

Harrell has fallen off and is ranked 15th (out of 15) among qbs. he’s got an uphill battle.

Vasquez is a bit of a sleeper and a lot of mock drafts leave him off, but he’s in the middle of the pack as far as linemen are concerned and I don’t see him not being drafted.

BWill has also fallen off of late because teams looking at him have decided that he has the size of an OLB and not of a DE but not the speed or footwork for it.

On the other hand, McBath has gained a lot of ground and is listed in the top 5 for safeties in the draft. He may have climbed his way up into the 2nd round.

I found it interesting that Stephen Mcgee was higher on Mel Kiper’s list than Harrell

Seems like most things I’ve read show McGee somewhere in the #6 to #10 range of QBs in the draft. He was greatly underutilized at A&M. He was a big stud passer in high school and Fran managed to neuter him completely. He passed for something like 9,000 yds in HS, with about 100 TDs. Not bad, though it was 3A.

Forgetting where he played for a minute, and our overall disdain for all things Aggie, he has the size, toughness, arm and brains to be a pretty decent NFL player. He also tested well at the combine. Scouts love that about any player…too much perhaps, but it’s the reality these prospects live with.

McBath – 3rd-4th rd
Williams – 5th rd
Vasquez – 5th rd
Harrell – 7th or FA

As long as they all get drafted

It does not matter a whole lot after the first two rounds where someone is drafted. Those players will need to be as aggressive in camp as any free agent. It is hard to make the rosters, but I think the talent level of the Raiders in the draft is good enough to enable them all to stick somewhere. It is a shame Harrell has dropped in the order of things. He is deserving of much more attention and should go no lower than the 5th round, maybe the fourth. GUNS UP!
