DTN's Best of Lubbock // Poll for Best Italian Food

DTN's Best of Lubbock: I have no idea how well this is going to go over, but the point of all of this is to get it straight from you guys as to the Best of Lubbock. This will serve as a guide to Big 12 fans who visit Lubbock. We'll have one each week, with the first part of the week being reader submissions and at the end of the week, I'll compile the most talked about suggestions and make a poll.

DTN Poll: Best Italian Food

I've taken your comments and from earlier this week and today we put it to a vote. Who has the best Italian Food in Lubbock (in no particular order and includes pizza): One Guy From Italy, Orlando's, and Stella's Deli Pizza.  I'm hoping for a battle royale.

Apparently

All three are highly thought of, so which wins is not really very relevant, but knowing of them will help visitors to choose one to have dinner at while in Lubbock. Take your pick. It appears you can’t lose regardless. Thanks, Seth. This and the other polls will help all of us to know and choose the best places to eat and party at during Tech’s home game weekends.

Hey Seth and other Dallasites,

You could also put up a list for those of us who will be in Dallas for the Baylor game. I am always looking for a hometown place to eat over the chain resturants…

I may not

have time to really get this going, just because of all of the other things I’m juggling and trying to complete. However, if someone wanted to take the initiative to do the same type of thing for Dallas and Austin, but with a FanPost that would be fine. I will say that with only 1,000 readers a day, DTN probably does not have as much traction with other cities as it has with Lubbock.

Yeah!

With as many Red Raiders in the Metroplex as there are supposed to be, they should all be able to ban together and provide some good info. Same goes for Austin. There is a ton of former Raiders here, including myself. If enough people want some input from these areas, just let Seth know. I’ll bet he would be keen to the idea, once he has completed his polls for Lubbock.

Nah, that’s best for some other site.

or maybe next year’s offseason.

or just asking around and getting an opinion.

Right now, the plan is to

do a few more food places, some bars and then hopefully, we’ll have football to discuss. It’s not that I don’t want to do this, but it is a little time-consuming and at some point, I do want start focusing on other things.

I know your time is tight, Seth.

Maybe the best way to find out the best places to go when followingTech to other cities would be for the main blogger (re:BOTC, etc.) of that particular school or location to have a similar poll from their readers. That way, if a person is expecting to go to any other lacale, all he has to do to find a good eating/drinking place is to go to that particular site. This way, one person-you-need not concern yourself with other places, just Lubbock. Much easier and all blogging sites get to be a part of the show. Do you think the other blogger sites would be OK with something like this? Just a thought.
