We're Wet!

I never actually thought I'd see the day Lubbock went wet. Well, it's here. Congrats to those who either a). cared about this, or b). will take advantage of this. I, sadly, don't fall into either category anymore.

Gotta feel bad for the strip owners, but hopefully they'll find a way to make it work.

I think the shop owners will do fine. First, they’ll probably be moving their business into town. afterall there’s a serious lack of liquor stores in lubbock proper now. Secondly, I think the owners have plenty of other businesses operating in the town as well.

my guess is

the strip owners already have land and buildings bought up all around lubbock and especially right around Tech and will be perfectly fine if not better off now…

I cannot even speak.

This makes me so happy, and that’s sad as shit.

Put me under category a) and b). A city that I truly fell in love with just returned a million favors I begged it for over the course of 4 years.

This really is remarkable.

Go register. Or else.

Overjoyed

I’m still a sophomore here and I’m pumped about this. I think Lubbock can only benefit from this and of course for college kids like myself, no more 20 minute drives to the beer store.

Don't feel sorry for Strip owners

They made enough over the years to fend off all kinds of battles including court cases over price collusion. Monopolies are not good in any industry, and by the people speaking, they let it be known that they’re not willing to put up with it any longer.
