DTN's Community Projections // Baron Batch
DTN's Community Projections
The Facts:
Last year was truly Baron Batch's breakout year as he 759 yards on only 112 carries for a 6.78 average and 7 touchdowns. Out of the backfield, Batch had 45 receptions for 449 yards and 1 touchdown.
What I Think:
Running back mate Shannon Woods gobbled up most of the rushing touchdowns with 12 I think you could expect that to change as Batch becomes the lead running back. However, RS freshman RB Harrison Jeffers is expected to burst onto the scene and there's the possibility that Jeffers and Aaron Crawford all equally share carries, although I think it's highly unlikely that Leach utilizes all three running backs.

Baron Batch was a beast last year and I still think he got less touches than he deserved. I’m hopeful that our younger guys will push him, but I’m definitely comfortable if Batch is the leading option at RB. I don’t know where he clocks for measurables, but Batch has a good motor and doesn’t give up on the play, with the churn this year sees on the line, we need him to step up and make plays. If Batch really comes into his own early on, then look out, and he could help us surprise lots of people this year.
