DTN's Best of Lubbock // Poll for Best Night Life

DTN's Best of Lubbock
I have no idea how well this is going to go over, but the point of all of this is to get it straight from you guys as to the Best of Lubbock. This will serve as a guide to Big 12 fans who visit Lubbock. We'll have one each week, with the first part of the week being reader submissions and at the end of the week, I'll compile the most talked about suggestions and make a poll.
DTN Poll: Best Night Life
I've taken your comments and from earlier this week and today we put it to a vote. Who has the best night life in Lubbock (in no particular order): Texas Cafe; Blue Light; The Library; Louie Louie's; La Diosa; Wild West; Cactus Courtyard; Broadway; Conference Cafe; Bash's; Skooner's;Jakes (side-room); and Recovery Room.

You forgot a few!
For those less fraternally inclined or even those past undergrad years, there are still great places to go in the evenings. Melt, in the depot district, has great drinks, food, and the perfect atmosphere for relaxing with friends. The Gas Light, on the southwest side of town, is definitely cougar central. For some good margaritas, Abuelo’s is packed every friday night with people wanting to enjoy the fine Lubbock evenings, live music, and cool drinks.
I can't vote here
But, I do want to wish all a good weekend. Mine starts today, my birthday. Have fun, you guys.

if you think about it...
the category of nght life, i think, should be more of like an area… if i go to a place, i won’t necessarily stay there if there are neighboring bars and such… really, you’ve already done this with “Broadway” which includes several bars… yet, the library, la diosa, and louie louie’s is split up… really you can add Blue light and Cactus courtyard to those too… all essentially on the same block or two like broadway bars…
My suggestion would be to combine the “Depot District” and then “Broadway” (which could include Bash’s) and see which of those two win… there are the other single places that are out on their own around lubbock, but these areas are clearly leading… as of this moment 10:33pm central 6-13 i count
Depot District: 40
Broadway (& Bash’s) : 34
an argument could be made for including Skooners with Broadway since it’s just down University a few blocks… that’d make it 38 and a closer race…
These are obviously the two main “hot spots” for the night life… you can then look at the individual places from there…
