Blogging on DoubleTNation
I wanted to say this separately from another entry. I really enjoy this blog site, especially with all of the differences of opinions that are offered, especially those that get me to maybe look at something just a bit differently. The below was posted as a comment on the other FanPost "Less is More?".
"When I visit other blogs, it is to shore up or obtain more information seen here. I am a member of a couple of other blogs only so I could make what I feel are quality statements, not demeaning ones. It serves me nor anyone else on other blogs for me to go there to be negative most, or all, the time. I enjoy a little banter, such as I have with a few of DoubleTNation’s bloggers. It is fun. But, there has to be a cutoff somewhere when someone gets way out of hand.
"I think most of the bloggers here keep withing the lines the majority of the time. If we do wander out, another blogger, or Seth himself, will set us straight. A place for us to go and vent a bit was never there for many years, at least not online. But it is opening up now. This site is one of the best. I can say that because I have visited other sites. I don’t make it a habit to go to other sites just to start something up because this is my team, not the others. I appreciate those backing me on this and hope we can all be contributors here for a long time. It sure makes the season a lot more fun. And as we like to say here…..WRECK ’EM!"
As said, I like this site and hope we all can continue to banter with good intentions as the '09 season approaches. If anyone from another blog, especially the ones in charge of the blogs, wants to come here and offer input, that is welcomed by us all, I am sure. But, some do seem to go a little overboard. Those persons simply need to be more civil when visiting, just as we Raiders try to do when we reciprocate. Thanks, Seth, for all your time and effort. Thanks, too to all those who are contributing editors. I appreciate it and look forward to the coming season.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Double-T Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Double-T Nation's writers or editors.

Listen to Seth
Sometimes we might forget that this site belongs to Seth. One doesn’t have to agree with him on everything in order to post one’s opinions here. But I think its kind of like being invited into someone else’s home. You don’t want to go in and overturn all their furniture. Its one thing to upset another poster, but if you cross the line with the guy in charge, its time to back off. Pay close attention to what he’s saying. He usually doesn’t complain.
I noticed on one thread that one individual just took everything over. He was making all kinds of contradictory statements that couldn’t be verified and started badgering. When Seth objected, it appeared he didn’t even notice.
I couldn’t help but thinking, “Wow, this is kind of like having an elephant in the room.” Way too obvious and way too uncomfortable.
I had defended that poster, but got to thinking, maybe I shouldn’t have. I feel like anyone should be welcome, but everyone should behave.

He’s called a troll and there are only two ways to deal with a troll: complete and rational thought and ignoring him.
Around here, I would suggest simply ignoring him, as we seem to have picked up a very persistent troll over the years.
If you go the rational thought way, be sure that your argument is complete and has no holes, otherwise a troll will pick up on that and hammer you on it.

Just a "gutty" note
I checked the GUT’s site. The MOST remarks on any post is 4. Most do not have any remarks. Apparently few Aggie fans blog, or something. Now I know why the gut comes over here. He can’t get any action on his own site, so he tries to get us teed off and remark on his entries on this site. Even when we respond kindly, he seems to turn things into a verbal brawl. Well, from now on, anything he enters will be totally ignored by me and, I hope, many more Raider fans. Especially now we know he is just here to rag on us or start some banter that really means nothing. So, how about it, guys? IGNORE him and MAYBE 12th man will just disappear in our rear view mirror…..hmmmmmm, sounds like a song.

It’s this “Internet” thing. It hasn’t quite reached college station yet :V

you haven't been perusing blogs very long, have you?
I can see no other reason for why you would equate the number of comments with how many people blog (two areas that aren’t related).
If I my only purpose was to generate comments on my site, I’d just post inflammatory topics sure to bring the ire of readers on other blogs. If my only purpose was to generate comments, which is trolling, I’d just list reasons why Tech will never win the Big 12 Championship in football, or something equally controversial.

"You gotta pay the toll troll if you want in this boy's hole"
Just a little clip from ’It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ some of you might pick up on. Trolls are everywhere and unavoidable, I used to get on espn boards quite a bit, but found a few trolls to be so overbearing that no really good discussions could be had. I for one am extremely grateful to have this blog to come to… for the most part everyone on here treats others with at least a basic level of respect. Its nice to see good comments be made (especially about Tech) without having the “how many championships have you won” be the rebuttal for any and all arguments.

very true
I agree whole heartedly.
I believe it was techtom4 and I who “represented” over there at Silver and Black Pride when the faithful bent over backwards to justify their drafting of Darrius Heyward-Bey over our Boy Michael Crabtree (or Brian Orakpo, Eugene Monroe, etc..)
No insults were hurled. (at least on our part) no four letter words were used. Until Finally, this post was put up DHB vs Crabtree vs Maclin
A little logic and reason goes a long way…
Wreck 'em, Tech!

I think Beergut is just missing football as much as us and he wants to mess with someone. Why not with the NON-RIVAL tech guys. He is having fun and i have got to say he has got to some of you. I dont approve what he does but i have asked questions on his blog and he has responded in a nice way.

What we need is an ‘IGNORE’ button like many forums have. Either that or the poster’s name at the top of an entry so we can tell it’s not worth reading.
